“Oh, but it really is.” I could still hear the smile in his voice, but he kissed my temple again and started massaging my head, so I didn’t complain. As far as bribes went, it was pretty good.
“If he’s a Dom in a relationship with a submissive omega that he works for, I’m pretty sure he’s not going to think badly of us.” Russ thought of everything in terms of us, not him or me…it was sweet.
“Probably not. But you didn’t see his face.” I huffed and wrapped my arms around his sides to give him a half-hug. “He was pissed.”
“Because he’s just figuring all this out and he’s upset that there’s a big part of your life he’s never seen.” Russ was politely refusing to point out that we’d had this conversation before.
Several times.
“It’s no one’s business.” I’d never felt bad about not telling my family. It wasn’t anyone’s business who I slept with or how we made love. Especially when they wouldn’t understand. Luckily, Russ was in agreement and wasn’t in any hurry to make crazy waves in the community either.
We had a small group of friends between work and the lifestyle scene that knew we were together, and that had always been enough for us. I knew I’d made the right decision about not telling the rest of the family, but the look on Shane’s face had me regretting not telling him.
“I agree.” There was no doubt in Russ’s voice, just agreement and conviction. “But now things have changed.”
“You really think I should talk to him?” The idea didn’t make me feel as nauseous as it would have a few years ago, but it wasn’t a pleasant feeling.
“Yes.” Russ never pulled any punches. But he kissed me again. “I think we need to invite him over for dinner and explain everything.”
I sighed. “Alright.”
“Good. You can call him after dinner. Make sure he knows to bring Tanner and we’ll all sit down and have a reasonable discussion about our lifestyles and kinks and get everything out on the table.” I would have laughed if he hadn’t been so serious.
“I thought it was no one’s business?”
He answered, but I knew if I looked up he’d be rolling his eyes. “But now he’s not just part of your family, he’s new to the lifestyle. He needs someone to talk to and to figure things out with. It’s got to be hard only having Tanner to talk to.”
“I hate it when you’re right.”
“I know.” The smart-ass was grinning as I arched up and glared at him.
“You’re not going to wear that smirk when one of those nosy omegas asks how we know Silas.” I chuckled as he finally groaned teasingly.
“He won’t tell. He’s insane, but he keeps people’s privacy. Besides, I’m pretty sure he has no idea we’re together.”
I rolled my eyes. “You’re crazy if you think that will hold them back.”
Russ was still grinning. “Do you think Jonah would have an issue with an alpha who likes plugs?”
My head flopped down to his chest, making him suck in a breath. “You’re evil.”
Laughing, Russ hugged me tight. “I’m going to take that as a no.”
“Neither of us has any idea what Jonah likes or what he thinks is weird. I’ve been very good at keeping things professional.” Sure, occasionally he couldn’t hide when something turned him on or made him curious, but I’d done my best to make sure I never did anything to make him uncomfortable.
“Then I think it’s about time for your cute omega to meet the rest of your crew. Including your sexy foreman who might just be a bit of a flirt.” Russ was nearly vibrating with excitement.
“If this comes back to bite me in the ass, I’m going to bury your body under six feet of cement.” Shifting, I sat up and frowned at him, but gave him a kiss anyway. “I might love you, but that won’t save you if all this blows up in my face.”
His smirk said he clearly wasn’t worried. “You say the sweetest things.”
I was surrounded by insanity on all sides and I had a feeling it was only going to get worse. I just wished my dick didn’t find that idea so enticing.
Chapter 3
Russ
“You know, he might not like all these vegetables you stick in everything.” I’d long since given up asking what he was cooking, but if I was lucky, Jonah would be a meat and potatoes guy like me. Two against one had to mean fewer weird vegetables and more steaks.
