Austin cheated—and Silas would use whatever means necessary to make his drama queen happy.

Or at least that was Jonah’s opinion on their relationship.

As everyone sat down in the living room, it was the first time all the chairs had been occupied. I was never going to hear the end of it from Russ. He’d been convinced we needed a thousand chairs and loveseats. I’d said he was crazy, but if it was up to him, I was going to have to eat those words.

“How did you hear about it?” I’d been planning on brooding for a while before I figured out what the next step should be. Jonah was curled up on my lap and shook his head, immediately denying setting his friends on me.

“Your mother called ours and she called Simon. They’re gossip buddies.” Shane rolled his eyes and glanced over at Simon, who snorted.

“Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.”

Which were the friends and which were the enemies?

Shane just huffed and seemed to refuse to acknowledge the crazy statement, so I focused on Simon. “What did your mother say?”

I was hoping the crazy hadn’t spread that far, but I wasn’t going to hold my breath.

Simon spread his legs out and leaned back in the chair, not looking concerned. “That your mother had lost her ever-loving mind.”

That had everyone laughing.

When the room was mostly silent again, Simon continued. “Evidently they had a knock-down drag-out fight about it. Mom was shocked about several things, don’t get me wrong, but she was mostly upset that your mom thought you’d do anything mean to an omega.”

At least someone thought I was a decent alpha.

“My mother didn’t handle the relationship well.” I shrugged as Russ snorted.

“Can you say understatement?” Russ’s sarcasm delighted Austin who grinned and nodded.

“My dad was more confused than anything.”

“Yeah, Mom was a bit confused about the whole three people relationship thing.” Simon winced. “I had to explain to my mother that an alpha could fuck another alpha. I really don’t appreciate having to be the one to explain that fun bit of knowledge.”

Jonah burst out laughing, setting everyone else off too. Maybe it was just the stress of the situation finally easing for him, but he laughed so hard he almost fell off my lap. Barely grabbing him, I wrapped my arms around him tight as he giggled and fought to catch his breath.

Simon was the only one pouting. “It was not funny. I’m going to be scarred for life.”

That didn’t help anyone get control.

It took a few minutes, but eventually, the laughter faded and Simon started his story again. “Mom was worried that your omega here would be the only one to satisfy your raging lusts. Which really makes me question their sex life.”

He shook his head and shivered like he’d seen something horrific. “But after a few awkward explanations, she was mostly fine with it. I think she’s going to randomly show up at some point to make sure Jonah is really into both of you, but once she sees that and doesn’t just have your mother’s insanity in her head, it’ll be fine.”

“Really? She’s been almost as insane the past few years as my mother.” Realizing how that sounded, I winced. “Sorry.”

Shane and Simon just laughed it off.

Shane shrugged. “It’s true.”

“She made it sound like a lot of it was coming from your mother, so I don’t know what she’s really thinking. The only things she did make clear were that Jonah should be able to do what he wanted and Graham wouldn’t hurt anyone.” Then he paused. “Oh, and you’re supposed to come for dinner next weekend, all three of you. And I’m grounded for tattling.”

“Tattling?” I was trying not to laugh, but Jonah had set off the giggling again and it was contagious. “Really?”

Simon nodded. “I’m grounded for a week because I shouldn’t have told you about the things she said in confidence.”

This seemed to be the first time Shane had heard that part of the story. Grinning, he cocked his head. “What are you grounded from? You still don’t have a TV.”

“Fuck if I know. I wasn’t going to argue with her. That side of the family is evidently more insane than we realized.” Simon snorted. “I mean, who hasn’t stumbled on alpha-alpha porn before? Her internet search history has got to be very vanilla.”
