His announcement was met with silence as the group watched us skeptically. They’d known about my relationship with Graham for years, but I’d never introduced anyone else to them, so I knew why they were silent.

“Graham and I have had a chance to get to know Jonah and the rest of the guys fairly well, but as you can see, Jonah’s getting a more personal touch to our usual fabulous service.” That had everyone grinning and laughter rolled across the room.

Jonah groaned. “That’s a terrible way to explain it.”

I waved my free hand. “Feel free to explain, then.”

“Well, I think a better way to say it is that once Graham and Russ met me, they realized how incredible I was and were desperate to throw themselves at my feet.” His teasing response had them in stitches and a few catcalls rang out from the back of the group.

I leaned down and nibbled on his ear, whispering low. “I’ll have to talk to you later about who’s going to be on their knees.”

Jonah let out a quiet moan, but the sound was amplified in the open warehouse, so there was no missing his reaction. The last of the doubts faded from the group as Jonah leaned into me, not hiding how my touch affected him.

Seeing was believing, I guess.

Pulling back, I gave him a teasing frown. “So distracting.”

He waggled his eyebrows, giving me a dirty leer as I chuckled and looked back at the motley crew I’d worked with for years. “Do you assholes believe me now?”

As the laughter quieted down, everyone nodded. “Thank you. Now you’ve seen the updated plans and everyone has their orders. Just keep in mind that anything you see, hear, or figure out has to stay quiet. I don’t need to tell you how crazy things will get if the wrong people figure out what the club will really be.”

Expressions turned serious as the nodding started again. “Great. Okay, now go get started so I can feel up my sexy omega for a few minutes.”

Laugher and a few teasing comments about the boss slacking off rang out as everyone separated into groups and started work for the day. Giving them a minute to process everything and talk about how they felt about the club, I looked at Jonah, turning him in my arms until he was pressed against my chest. “I’m glad you stopped by.”

“Just glad because of the mutiny I helped stop or glad for other reasons?” I couldn’t tell if Jonah’s questions were completely teasing or not, but I didn’t want there to be any doubt about how I felt, so I gripped him even tighter.

“I’m glad to see you period.” I leaned down and pressed a kiss to his lips. “I had a wonderful time with you on Saturday. Getting to see you again this soon is wonderful.”

And him making the effort to reach out first was even better.

We’d all stayed up late talking and cuddling on Saturday night, but eventually, Jonah had decided to head home instead of sleeping over with us. I understood that he’d probably wanted space and a chance to figure out what he was feeling, but it’d still been hard watching him go.

The random texting and flirting we’d done through text messages had helped Graham relax more, but it was nice to see that Jonah was in just as good a mood. Jonah beamed and snuggled closer. “Me too. I think I just wanted to make sure things still felt the same, but as soon as I saw you, I knew nothing had changed.”

His honesty was sweet and refreshing.

“I’m glad. I think we were both worried about how you would feel after getting some space from us. I know the situation isn’t what you’d always pictured, but I won’t deny how right it feels.” Hiding from how we were reacting would be the first step in fucking things up, so I wasn’t going to downplay how I felt. This was too important to me.

Jonah nodded, laying his head on my shoulder. “I might have had a few moments yesterday where it seemed too good to be true, but I just kept going back to how we seemed to fit together.”

I kissed his cheek, hugging him tight. “You were made to fit with me and Graham. My family has always believed in fated mates and I know you’re ours. I knew Graham belonged with me from the first time I met him and you’re no different.”

I’d heard people scoff at the idea over the years, and even in television and movies it was relegated to silly tales from the past, nothing a modern person would consider reasonable. But there were just so many amazing things about how relationships formed and how sometimes people like an alpha and omega would just come together and know right from the start it would last forever.

Jonah rubbed his cheek against my shoulder then eased back, though still close enough to cuddle. “Austin said something one time about how being with Silas just felt right from the minute he saw him. Of course, Austin was well on his way to stinking drunk when he said it, but the look on his face…”

Smiling at me, Jonah shrugged. “There was just something about how passionately he said it that really hit me. It was likebamand they were head over heels in love. I thought it was sweet but silly…now I’m not so sure he was exaggerating.”

Stretching up, Jonah gave me a brief, tender kiss. “I have to go now. But thank you for letting me interrupt your morning.”

“Any time.” I kissed his forehead, reluctantly releasing him. “Call Graham later if you want to have lunch. I know he’d love it, and I have it on good authority he’s got a break in his schedule today.”

Nodding, Jonah smiled. “I will.”

Glancing back to wave at the few onlookers who’d been coming up with one excuse after another to keep an eye on us, his smile widened. “Bye, guys. Thanks for your help with this.”

As Jonah headed out the door, the crew started inching back in my direction. Yeah, the interrogation was coming. It was going to end up being a long day, but hopefully, once they got their questions out of their system we’d actually get some work done.
