Oh, this could be an interesting question. “Yeah, he seems to understand a lot about the lifestyle and the changes he suggested made sense.”
“Do we know how he has such interesting opinions on BDSM and kink?” Dakota finally voiced the unasked question.
I shrugged. Thankfully, I had no idea. “We’ve just talked about work.”
Mostly.
“I did meet the guy who’s in charge of the worksite earlier and he seems nice. Graham explained what the building really is and the guy didn’t blink. So far they haven’t told the rest of the crew, but he gave me the impression that they’d be open to it.” I thought that was a pretty good way of explaining how the conversation had gone.
Minus all the flirting and date.
And leaving out the fact that he and Graham seemed to be a couple.
Yeah, that could get brought up at a later time.
Especially since Graham was really nervous about it. I was fairly certain he was worried about how I’d take the flood of news, but he had to be worrying about what Shane would think since I was positive he hadn’t told him yet. We’d have already heard about that or at least sensed something had changed if Shane and Tanner knew about it.
I’d wanted to go over and give him a hug and tell him I didn’t have an issue with it, but there was so much standing between us that it felt weird. We’d never even acknowledged the attraction between us, much less addressed the kink questions and his apparent long-term lover.
An alpha lover.
There were so many questions running through my brain, I couldn’t decide what to focus on or how to make them stop. I wasn’t even sure what was too nosy to wonder and what was appropriate. If they’d talked about dating me, I could be curious about what two alphas got up to in bed, right?
Did they make love like an alpha and an omega would?
Had they really been together since high school?
Had they ever knotted each other?
Were they into BDSM or just felt kinky because it was two alphas together?
Fuck. I hoped they were kinky.
Was it bad that I didn’t think them being together was terribly kinky? They clearly loved each other if they’d been together that long, but if it was a vanilla relationship, where would that leave me? There was just something about Graham that pulled at me and Russ had the same effect on me. His wicked smile had my stomach doing circles, but what would he think about everything else I wanted?
Were they two alphas looking for an omega or two Doms looking for a sub?
I just hoped they understood those were two very different things.
Chapter 5
Graham
Awkward did not even begin to describe dinner.
Tanner was the first to get fed up with the elephant in the room. For a sub he was surprisingly take-charge, but looking at all his friends, that shouldn’t have surprised me. They were very unique omegas. “Shane said you guys did the renovations on the house as your first project?”
That was a somewhat safe topic.
“Yeah, in high school we started planning out the idea for the business. This was the first thing we tackled.” It felt like a lifetime ago. Glancing around the dining room and into the living room, I smiled. “It turned out great.”
Especially considering how much we hadn’t known and how little money we had to start with.
“It must have been a huge undertaking.” Tanner studied the moldings and all the little details with care as he cut his steak. “I’d have never thought the renovations were done by inexperienced contractors.”
“We had some good help at the time.” I grinned at Russ. “Russ’s uncle is in construction and we spent several summers living at his place learning everything we could.”
Shane chuckled. “I still remember how your mother hated that. Her baby living hours away for the whole summer, slaving from dawn to dusk.”
