Was dinner with Graham and what seemed to be his alpha partner a date?
Shit. I had a date with two alphas.
Could two alphas who seemed to be looking for an omega be vanilla? Would that even be possible?
Shit.
That might be possible.
“Are you okay?” Wade’s voice had me nearly falling off the couch. “Careful.”
I fought the urge to squirm as I straightened and leaned back against the cushions. “Yeah, just thinking.”
He glanced at the TV where we were waiting for the commercial break to end and Austin’s segment to come on. “About Austin? He’s going to be fine. He’s the perfect attention whore for this because they’ll never see his point coming.”
I chuckled, shaking my head. “No, he’s going to do great.”
“Anything you want to talk about?” Tanner’s voice came from across the room, making me curse my inability to hide my whirling thoughts.
“Yeah, but not now. Ask me next week.” Because I had a feeling he was going to be a lot more informed after his dinner with Graham, and I wasn’t going to be the one to spill those beans.
“You sure?” Wade glanced between Tanner and me, probably hoping Tanner would force the issue.
“Yes.” Then thankfully a picture of Austin with a teasing grin flashed across the screen as the show started again. “Ah, here we go. Turn it back up.”
None of the guys looked happy to put off my interrogation, but it wasn’t anything I could talk about now, so they’d just have to wait.
Austin was just as distracting as I knew he would be.
His smiling face showed on the screen as Margaret Ford’s voice started teasing herspecial guest. She played up his drama and the mystery surrounding his newest love interest, but there was something in her voice that let you know it wasn’t going to be justanyinterview. Austin had been right to pick her. She knew how to work an audience.
As the pictures stopped flashing across the screen and the camera settled tightly on Austin and Margaret, we all sat back and watched quietly as they flirted and had fun with the opening comments.
“Okay now, I’ve let you get away with distracting me enough.” She shook her head, playing like he was so cute she just didn’t know what to do with him.
Austin grinned, giving her a very “Who, me?” expression. “Would I do that?”
“Oh, in a heartbeat. But I’m dying to know the story around the newest pictures that have surfaced. You’ve been keeping your private lifeveryprivate lately and you’ve got us all terribly curious.” She gave the camera a teasing smile before turning back to Austin. “You know I have to ask. Everyone is desperate to find out how you met your new man. I’ve heard some very interesting rumors. Did you really meet him while he was…let’s say for the sake of censors…working in the entertainment industry?”
Dakota barked out a laugh as he looked up from his phone. “Social media is exploding. They really think he’s going to announce he’s going into porn or something insane.”
“Good lord.” Bradley rolled his eyes. “That’s crazy.”
Wade laughed. “But it would be something he’d do and have a very good reason for doing too.”
“Shh. He’s responding.” Austin was laughing on-screen, delighted at the drama.
“Well, I met him through some friends and we are currently inbusinesstogether.” He flirted with the camera and gave her a wicked expression. From the way Dakota was laughing, the internet was convinced that Austin was going into porn. “But it’s not as bad as people are making it sound. My Silas is a sweetie.”
“A sweetie?” She had just the right mix of disbelief and charm. “I’d have to describe him as tall, dark, and broody…but sweet?”
She made a little fanning gesture with her hands toward the camera before looking back at Austin. He giggled and nodded. “Oh, you have no idea. He’s just…”—Austin’s voice sounded like he was going to say something wickedly dirty—“so good to me.”
Only Austin could make that sound raunchy enough to make people blush.
Margaret grinned, still playing up the sweet and sexy routine. “So you said you’re working together? What does he do? What’s the fabulous Austin Johnson up to now? If I were to guess by what’s online…well, we can say it might be scandalous.”
Austin grinned and giggled perfectly, making it look like he thought everything was sexy and silly. “He’s a businessman. I don’t know what you’re hinting at.”
