“I wouldn’t worry. He didn’t seem to haveany issue with dealing with you guys once everything came out last week.”Graham might have been quiet about his own preferences, but he hadn’t mindedthe guys being open about theirs. Even working for submissive kinky omegasdidn’t make him react.
“Yeah, it's just strange to find out thatyour family is weirder than you think, and if he doesn’t have anyone to talk toabout this stuff, it would be even harder.” Trouble peered up at me, his wide, worried eyes looking very sad and very fake. “Does he have anyone to talk towho understands what he’s going through?”
“Trouble, what did I say?” He was cute, butI wasn’t going to go behind Graham’s back even if I knew something.
Austin sighed again, giving me a more realistic-lookingpout. “You don’t know anything and I shouldn’t meddle.”
“That’s right.” Not that he was going tolisten to me.
“But I have so many questions.” He gave mea pleading look. “Shouldn’t curiosity and learning be praised?”
I snorted. “Not when it’s other people’sprivate lives you’re being curious about.” Then I narrowed my eyes. “Got it?”
“Yes, Master.” Austin slumped against mebut seemed to be willing to give up for now because he started caressing mychest with slow circles as he nuzzled against me. “How much longer until youclose, Master?”
He knew that answer as well as I did, but Ihumored him anyway. “One more hour.”
Unfortunately, itwasn’t a business that people needed open first thing in the morning. I gotmost of my traffic in the late afternoon and early evening. Friday and Saturdaywere my latest hours because some people needed a bit of liquid courage at oneof the local bars before they stopped in.
As much as I wanted to take off early andjust head upstairs with him, I had a business to run and Trouble knew that. Before I could tell him to head upstairs and wait for me, the bell at the frontof the store chimed.
Austin huffed but bounced over to thestairs and pulled out his phone again. As he started to mumble about aliens andnext levels, I turned and headed out to the front only to scowl. The chances ofthe little old man in front of me being into anything in my store was a hundredto one odds.
“License, please. This store is not legallyallowed to sell to minors or unmarried omegas. Everyone must be carded.” I didmy best not to roll my eyes, but Austin’s snort from the back didn’t help.
The man waved me off but stared ateverything with wide, shocked eyes. “I stopped driving years ago. Do I looklike a kid?”
“No, but the legal requirements are thesame for everyone. You must leave the store if you do not have proper identification.”As the man started to move, I stepped closer and blocked his path. “I will callthe police and have you arrested or I’ll let them know that their plant didn’twork. Either way, you’ll get removed.”
“Sounded like you’ve got someone else backthere, though. Age discrimination, I bet.” He gave me a stern look and glancedtoward the back of the store.
“Cops. Remember.” I pointed toward thedoor.
The man snorted but seemed to take me at myword because he waved me off and headed out the door again. They were gettingdesperate if they thought I’d get taken in by that old goat. Sure, I didn’tcare what he wanted or what he got up to in the privacy of his bedroom, but Iwasn’t going to get shut down for it.
But I didn’t like the way he was studyingthe back. Did they think Austin was a single omega in the store? There weren’tmany windows at the front of the store, but I headed over to the door andlooked through the small one and out onto the street. It was too empty.
Normally, this late at night there would beat least a few of the young guys prowling around looking for someone to hassle. They were smart enough to leave my customers alone, but I could usually seepeople passing on the sidewalk or watching from across the street.
Throwing the lock, I turned off the opensign and headed to the back. “Let’s go upstairs. I think it’s going to be aquiet night anyway.”
Austin had the phone put away by the time Iwent through the curtain. “Will the police really come hassle you because theyheard me back here?”
“Even if they do, there’s nothing to worryabout. I’ve checked the paperwork three times. The store ends at this doorwayand the rest of the area is labeled as residential and even taxed that way. Icould have a harem of omegas in here and there is nothing they could say.”Austin grinned as he sauntered over to me, but I could still see the worry inhis eyes.
“A harem, huh? I haven’t heard this fantasyyet.” He pressed close enough to me that his erection rubbed against my thigh.“Do I have to worry about all this competition or am I going to be the topslave?”
As much as I wanted to play with him andsink into his fantasy, the old man’s expression was still eating at me. I gavehim a quick peck and pulled back. “You will always be top slave, but right nowyou’ve got a new role to play.”
Austin slowly stroked over my chest as hestepped away with his brows pulled together. “New role? That doesn’t soundnaughty.”
I chuckled and took his hand. “Because it’snot. Come upstairs with me.”
“What about the store?” He glanced backthrough the curtain.
“I locked the door and turned off the opensign. It will be fine for a few minutes until I can come back down and close upcompletely.” For some reason, I knew I couldn’t dawdle.
“Come on. This will just take a minute.”The idea had been brewing in the back of my mind for days, but I thought itwould be ridiculous. Now I wasn’t so sure.
