Wade was too nice for his own goodsometimes. That’s why he had us, though. “Okay, no more seriousness. I waspromised alcohol and sexy talk.”

Bradley scoffed. “We said we were havingsome wine while we discussed the club plans.”

I waved my hand. “Same thing.”

They just needed to see the bright side ofthings.

I couldn’t stopgiggling as the room spun. “No. He said to call. He’ll be here soon.”

Leaning back against the couch, I stared upat the ceiling, patting the couch to make sure Bradley had handed my phone backto me. The buttons kept whirling around on my phone, so he’d texted Silas forme.

“Is Silas going to be upset?” Tanner’s headappeared over me and I was pleased that there was only one of him.

“I shouldn’t have switched to shots.” Wait, had that been my idea? I pointed across the room, hopefully in the direction ofJonah. “This is your fault.”

Giggles came from across the room followedby a thud.

“Shit.” Wade clearly should have had atleast one more shot because he sounded entirely too sober.

“I’m fine.” Jonah’s voice called out, somewhat explaining the weird thud. “The chair just moved.”

“I think the couch is moving too.” Wadeneeded to get more stable furniture.

Bradley snorted but before he couldcomplain, Tanner was leaning over me again. Where had he gone? “Was Silasangry?”

“Silas?” Oh, was he angry? “That would beso hot. Maybe if I ask him to, he’ll get mad at me. Fuck, he’s so hot when hegrowls.”

The way Tanner kept moving his head wasmaking him spin, so maybe I wasn’t seeing his expression clearly, but I thoughthe was frowning again. “Don’t you like it when Shane gets frustrated and startsthreatening to punish you? Silas is so creative. I bet he could make me comejust by telling me what he’s going to do to me.”

I heard Wade and Jonah start gigglingacross the room and another thud had me sitting up so I could see what theywere doing. Jonah was sprawled on the floor again and Wade was laughing so hardhe looked like he was going to pee in his pants.

“Why are you on the floor? Did the chairmove again?” When Jonah nodded, looking very confused, I turned to Wade.

“You have to get safer furniture. I’ll payfor it, but we can’t sit on stuff that randomly decides to move. It’s fine mostof the time, but every few months, BAM we’re all on the floor. I love you toomuch to see you hurt.”

Wade was very ungrateful because he laughedso hard he finally had to sit down on the floor with Jonah. I looked over atDakota who was laughing almost as badly as Wade. “See, he’s not taking meseriously. Tell him you think he needs safer furniture too.”

Sometimes it was like I was the only adultin the room and I had to save them from themselves.

Bradley started to choke and cough as hetried to tell Wade I was right, so I was helpful and shoved his glass back inhis hands. “Here. Don’t choke.”

Vodka didn’t seem to help the coughing, buthe stopped laughing as it went down, so I was pleased that part of the problemhad been fixed. For some reason, Tanner groaned and started asking what he’ddone to deserve friends like us.

Smiling up at him, I held out my hands.“Come here. You need a hug. That will help you remember.”

I thought I saw him roll his eyes but thatmight have been the room moving again. Thinking about the moving room remindedme that Wade still hadn’t agreed to safer furniture, but then the doorbell rang.“We have visitors. Who did we invite? I think the vodka is gone.”

We were such bad hosts.

Tanner started grumbling again, because hewas clearly a party pooper, and went to the door. I was glad he was helpfulbecause for some reason I didn’t think the room would stay still long enoughfor me to make it to the door.

When Silas walked in, it was a wonderfulsurprise. “You’re here. Did you come to hang out too?”

He groaned. “No, Trouble, you called me to comepick you up.”

“I did?” I beamed at him. “Then Iremembered to follow directions. I bet you’re so proud of me.”
