I was hoping it would give me a direction to take the construction search in. The building was quiet enough that I didn’t fight my habit of talking to myself. “I had it earlier when I was taking the paperwork to legal. I didn’t want it to get misplaced, so I set it down…drawer.” That’s where it was, I’d set it down in the same drawer I always kept my phone in.

“Because you didn’t want it to get mixed up with the work papers from this company.” I was going to need to set up a whole separate filing system for the project so the paperwork stayed isolated. As I fished out the list, I updated the to-do list on my screen.

“Okay, what did he need?” Focusing back on the paperwork, I had to read it through twice before some of the notes started making sense.

What the hell?

“Heat rooms?”

“BDSM scenes?”

“Bar but not during scenes?”

“BDSM teacher?”

What the fuck was he building? And why did he have heat rooms underlined twice like he did when he was going over contract sections that he found interesting?

Picking up my phone again, I sent Simon a quick note.

Find someone who can be completely private. No gossip whatsoever.

I took a deep breath. Tanner had just made my job a thousand times harder. Ignoring everything else about the damned list but what pertained to my job, I sighed. How was I supposed to help my boss find a contractor to build a sex club?

I worked in shipping, not porn.

Did I know anyone who worked in the pornography industry?

“This is doable. But we’re not going to tell Bradley exactly how much this will cost to get up and running.” Austin grinned as Bradley snorted.

“Bradley knows how much this is going to cost.” Watching Bradley talk about himself in the third person was weird, but whatever made him happy. Sometimes I thought all the numbers he analyzed in his job as a financial advisor fried his brain. That would also explain some of my insanity as well.

“I’m not worried about the money.” I chuckled when I watched the tightwad wince. “I want it to look right and for it to turn out beautifully.”

Which meant we’d have to spend some money.

I’d thought we’d all been on the same page about that fact when we’d come up with the idea at Wade’s house, but I had a feeling I would need to remind some of the guys more than others. Bradley especially didn’t like spending money on anything he considered to be frivolous.

But nothing about the club was frivolous to me.

“I’ll obsess about the money enough for all of us.” Bradley smirked. “Don’t worry about that.”

Rolling my eyes, I pointed along one wall, wishing Dakota and Jonah had been able to make it to help keep everyone in line. Things went smoother when we were all together. Something about the six of us just complimented each other perfectly. That was why we’d all been friends for so long. “I think that would be good for a bar. Not necessarily for alcohol but just for looks and other drinks.”

Austin nodded, for a second distracted enough by real work that poking at Bradley wasn’t his immediate concern. “Yes, but I think we need to push it back and have the front part separated out into a doctors’ office style waiting room. I think it needs to look boring and plain and completely uninteresting. Then once you walk back through the doors, BAM, you’ve got a beautiful living room style club.”

Nodding, I looked over at Wade who was also quietly nodding. If the backbone of the group liked the plan then we knew we were on the right path.

Turning back to Austin, I stepped farther back into the space. “Here? I want to make sure this room feels open, and I was picturing a lot of small sitting areas so people could have privacy. Not enough that we’re going to have people doing crazy things in this part of the club, but enough for intimate conversations and things like that.”

Austin rolled his eyes. “I want at least a little bit of intimacy out here. I should be able to get a spanking anywhere I want to.”

Wade chuckled, clearly entertained by the drama queen. He looked sweet and innocent, but he was a bad influence when it came to egging Austin on. “I think we’ll need to establish some guidelines before we open.”

When Austin sighed, Wade grinned, interrupting whatever crazy Austin was about to spew. “Not a lot of rules, but just enough that everyone feels comfortable here.”
