Eli groaned. “I’m not sure he’d want me to answer that. Let’s just say, I think he’d like to spank you. And no, I don’t want to date Preston. I just like driving him crazy.”

I smiled. “Wonderful. You can make him crazy and he can spank me, then everyone will be happy.”

Lane started waving his hand again then brought his finger up to his lips. “Shh. You’re not supposed to tell. Remember?”

“No. But okay.” What wasn’t I supposed to tell? “Oh, I’m not supposed to tell about what I like because you’ll get in trouble.”

“That’s right, and we don’t want Preston upset.” Lane reached for his glass, but Eli snatched it away as the waiter came over.

“They’re both done with these.” He took mine too, and I slouched back in the seat.

“That’s not fair.” I had a few sips left.

Eli gave the waiter a stern look. “These are stronger than they used to be.”

The waiter shrugged. “New bartender.”

“New bartender who thought they were hot.” Eli pushed the nachos closer to Lane and me. “You two eat.”

The waiter laughed. “New bartender who thought all of you were hot.”

Eli huffed but grinned. “Their boyfriends are going to kill me.”

I leaned over to Lane again, bracing my hand on his arm. “Do you think Preston is my boyfriend?”

Lane giggled. “I think he wants to be.”

“Oh.” I wasn’t sure what to say. “That’s…”

“He’d be a very good boyfriend.” Lane patted my arm. “He likes you. Did I tell you that? I think I can tell you that.”

“For the love of God. They’re going to kill me.”

Eli looked sad, so I glanced over at the waiter, who was smiling. “He might need dessert to make him happy.”

For some reason that made the waiter laugh, and he reached out to pat Eli’s shoulder. “Good luck.”

Eli ignored him and gave Lane and me a firm look. “Eat the nachos.”

“Yes, sir.” My response had Lane giggling.

“He’s not a sir. You call Preston Sir or Master if that’s what you like. But don’t tell me so I don’t get in trouble.” Lane nodded seriously.

“Oh, that’s right.” We needed to be good.

Eli shoved the plate of nachos at us again, so I grabbed one to make him happy. They weren’t as good as dessert, but the cheese was delicious. It made me thirsty, though. I gave Eli my best serious look. “Do you think I could have another fruity drink? This is very salty.”

Lane started nodding and smiling. “Yes, that’s a very good idea.”

Eli was a stick in the mud, though. “No, I’ll get you water.”

I sighed and tried to pout, but it didn’t seem to work as well as when Eli did it because he just snorted and stood up. “Don’t go anywhere. I’ll go tell the waiter to bring you some water. Just eat the food.”

Lane and I both nodded as he walked away. Between bites, I leaned over and rested my head on Lane’s shoulder. “Do you think Preston is my boyfriend?”

Lane shrugged, making my head bounce, and I giggled as the room whirled. “Why don’t you text him? Then I can’t get in trouble for asking you or telling you or…whatever. That way I can’t get in trouble.”

The logic worked for me, so I dug out my phone. Finding Preston’s number was hard because we’d only texted a few times, but I finally got it. “Found him. He was hiding.”
