Jain nodded glumly before directing me to her house. Whilst we drove, she called to check on Kate.
“She’s asleep. Sarah said she has been sick again, so she is going to the doctor tomorrow for advice. It must be awful,” she murmured, lost in thought as she typed away on her phone.
“Does she have any idea who the father is?” I asked, trying to keep the disapproval from my voice.
“I don’t think so. It has to be Arden,” Jain sighed, gazing out of the window.
“He seemed more interested inyouthan any potential children. I hope for her sake that it’s not his.”
She nodded, and I stole a glance at her. At the same time, she turned to look at me.
“What?!” She exclaimed, a smile playing on her lips.
“I’m going to miss you tonight.”
I pulled up outside of her house, noticing the light was on.
“Me too. Ugh, my mum is still up. I’ll text you later, though?” Jain looked at me hopefully as I tore my gaze away from her lips.
“I expect nothing less.” I smiled when suddenly she leaned over, pressing her lips against mine as her tongue crept into my mouth. I kissed her back hungrily before remembering where we were.
“Not here,” I groaned as she kissed me softly on the lips.
“Goodnight, Mr Silver.”
“Goodnight, Angel,” I whispered as I watched her walk to the door, her hips seductively swaying before she turned to gaze at me, her mouth forming the words I longed to hear.
I love you.
I smiled then, pointing back at her.
Man, I was in trouble.

“Do you think I’m stupid, Jain?”
I whirled around to see my mum staring at me angrily, her hands trembling. She looked pale, her mouth set in a firm, angry line. I blinked before shaking my head innocently.
“What?”
“Yourteacher?”Mum whispered, her eyes wide and rapidly filling with fury. “Are you having sex with him?”
I didn’t have time to adjust my face, and I felt the guilt spreading over me like a rash. Thiscouldn’tbe happening.
“Mum, I’m sorry—”
“Jain, I’m disappointed in you. What he is doing is illegal—”
“But I love him!” I cried out, a sob releasing from my throat as she flinched.
“Oh, Jain. I do not doubt that you do. But he is yourteacherand in a position of authority! Which he hasabused!”
I couldn’t speak, knowing anything else I said would only serve to incriminate me further.
