“Can we just leave?” I whispered as he nodded.
“Yeah, make-up sex is the best.”
“Don’t push your fucking luck. You’re still a wanker,” I hissed, pushing the doors open as I stormed away.
I knew my moods were probably giving him whiplash, but I didn’t care.
Fuck him.
Chapter Thirteen
"Kate?" I demanded, moving back when Arden reached for me.
The wind whipped around him as he gazed at me with a solemn expression on his face.
"I'm a dick, and I know it. But in fairness, Jain, we never set any boundaries. For all I know, you could've been fucking someone else!"
"You fucked her?" I gasped, nausea taking over me.
He looked panicked for a minute before reaching out for me.
"Jain-"
"No, Ican't, Arden. Do you understand how fucked up this is? I know we never set boundaries, but I did hope you were the sort of guy that wouldn't need them! I assumed when you were spending so much time with me; you wouldn't be out seeking attention from other women!" I was seething now, and he frowned at me.
"You're not my girlfriend, Jain. You're overreacting."
His voice was low and cautious, his eyes glancing around us like I was about to go thermo-psycho on him.
"Don't flatter yourself. It's my fault for trusting you," I spat angrily, wishing I had never laid eyes on him.
I liked him more than I cared to admit, but he was not helping the situation at all. His hair fell into his eyes as he gazed at me, his jaw tightening.
"Wait, you liked me?"
"Why do you think I'm reacting like this, you dick?!" I slammed my hands on his chest as he caught them roughly in his hands.
"All you had to do was say," Arden said, a smirk playing on his lips. He was so sure of himself.
"Past tense, take note."
"Noted. Do you at least accept my apology?"
I sighed with irritation before turning in the opposite direction.
"No. Better luck with Kate."
"Jain—" Arden called after me, his voice filled with irritation.
I wasn't sure whyhefelt annoyed, but it wasn't a patch on what I felt. I strode away, hoping he wasn't following me.
I was incensed.
Yet part of me still wanted Arden despite his filthy antics. I couldn't allow myself to go there- especially considering who he had been with.
Kate.
I couldn't forget the smug look in her eyes, the way she had pouted at me before throwing her silky hair over her shoulder. She could have Arden. I was lucky enough not to have fallen hook, line, and sinker for him.
