I smile stupidly, doodling on paper as I imagine what our baby would look like. My phone vibrated in my bag, and I frowned as I tugged it out.
THEO:
I like the name Kai for a boy. Thoughts?
I grinned, typing out my reply.
HANNAH:
I like the name, Gianna.
THEO:
Bit feminine for a boy, babe...
HANNAH:
Phoenix is nice.
THEO:
I guess that works for either sex.
I rolled my eyes as I slid my phone away, wondering why he was so convinced it was a boy I was carrying. Maybe I should start reading up on old wives’ tales, see if I could work it out.
Either way, I didn’t care.
As long as it wasn’t twins, I was okay.

EPILOGUE
His tiny fingers wrapped around my forefinger; his nose nuzzled into my chest as he snuffled. His hair swept to the side, all dark and sticky from his journey to meet us.
“I can’t believe you’re mine,” I whispered, gazing at my baby in adoration.
Beside me, Theo leaned over, gazing at our son with misty eyes.
“He’s so beautiful,” Theo murmured, stroking his cheek delicately. “And so small.”
“He’s going to be a little heartbreaker.” I sighed with a smile. “Like you, Casanova.”
Theo grinned, leaning down to kiss my lips.
“I’m a one-woman man, baby. I couldn’t be more proud of you.”
We’re both staring at our baby in awe, when the door opens softly, a large blue balloon pushing its way into the room.
“Hi!”
Mom beamed at us from behind the balloon, rushing over to cuddle Theo.
Ryan and Mara followed her in, and I got choked up when my brother froze at the sight of me holding my baby.
“Hey, baby, I’m your granny,” Mom cooed, dropping a kiss on his wrinkly forehead. “You did so well, Hannah, he’s gorgeous.”
I knew I should offer him out to be held, but I couldn’t part with him.
