“Stop this shit. Seriously, or I’ll whoop your ass.”

“I have no clothes! Nothing fits me,” I wailed, realizing I was crying.

A soft knock at the door only seems to make me cry harder, especially when it opened to reveal Mom’s kind face.

“Hey, baby. Come here.”

She opened her arms to me, and I ran to her like a child, as she patted my back soothingly.

“I’m sorry. I don’t even know why I’m crying.” I sniffed, as Mom smiled and kissed my head.

“I do. It’s those damn hormones. What time do you finish school today?”

“Two.” I sighed, wiping my eyes as she held me at arm’s length.

“We need to go shopping after. My treat.”

Mom grinned, and I cried again, hugging her like I’m five years old again.

“Thank you,” I whispered, and she kissed my head again.

“You never stop needing your mama.”

HANNAH

I’d had a few days off school due to morning sickness and general anxiety, but now I was back. Mara met Theo and me at the school entrance with a broad smile, hugging us both warmly as I glanced around us anxiously.

“What’s wrong?” Mara asked, looking at me with concern.

Theo rolled his eyes as he wrapped his arms around me from behind, burying his face into my neck as I sighed.

“I’m worried someone will crash into me or something,” I muttered, realizing how stupid it sounded when I said it aloud.

“They’ll do it once.” Huffed Theo, littering kisses over my cheek as Mara nodded in agreement.

“Aw, Han. You’ll be fine. Let’s go.”

Mara linked her arms with mine as Theo released me, as I searched for him over my shoulder. His eyes met mine as he raised his eyebrows, and I smiled weakly.

I couldn’t stop worrying, and when we reached my class, he insisted on walking me to my seat, sliding my bag onto my chair.

“I’m not a Faberge egg.” I chuckled as Theo sat on the desk beside mine, gazing around the room with a curious expression on his face.

I still can’t believe he is mine.

“I’ll meet you at noon,” he declared, leaning forward to kiss my lips as I nodded, as his gaze suddenly hardened.

Following his eyes, I saw Edward walk in, his smile dying on his lips when he saw Theo.

“Hannah, you’re back. Are you okay?”

Edward purposely ignored Theo, and as I went to respond, Theo interrupted.

“Hey Eddie,” he drawled sarcastically, walking past him. “See you later, baby.” Theo directed at me, and I swooned inwardly.

Edward sent him an exasperated gaze as he left, winking at me before he disappeared.
