Silly Alice.

I closed my eyes, leaning forward as I heard a soft knock at the door. I didn’t respond, not wanting to face whoever it was.

“Can I come in?” came the soft voice as I stared at the ceiling.

“Yes.”

Summer walked in, gazing at me as she leaned against the wall. We looked so alike people often thought we were twins. She was observing me before she walked over to sit beside me on the bed.

“I know I probably haven’t been the best sister to you-” she began, sighing as she moved my hair from my face.

“Summer, you’re great. I’m just a fucking psycho bitch,” I said, the tears filling my eyes again as Summer frowned.

“You’re not. You are amazing; you just need to channel your energy in the right way...”

“Lucas is fucking someone else,” I spat out bluntly as Summer grimaced.

“Are you sure?”

“I just called him, and some bitch was there telling him it’s too early for phone calls-”

“Ok, but this is what I mean. Lucas asked you to marry him. Have his kids. He’s fucking hot, Alice...” She chuckled as I scowled at her.

I filled her in then on the night before, as she nodded and cringed in all the right places.

“You’re all married. I didn’t want just to follow suit and be...normal. I’m anything but,” I confessed, as she threw her head back laughing.

“Normal? Is anyone in this family normal? You would’ve been marrying a mobster Alice, hardly normal...”

“Do you know the weird thing is, I never think of him like that? He’s just Lucas to me.”

“You need to tell him how you feel, women or not. You need to go there, and fucking tell him.”

“You don’t just turn up at a house like that unannounced, Summer...” I sighed as she folded her arms.

“You need to make an effort here. Lucas isn’t going to come to you again.”

I looked at her as I closed my eyes.

“I used to fancy Gabe,” I admitted, as she laughed softly.

“I know. Everyone does; he is just lovely.” Summer grinned as I shifted uneasily.

“I know, but I was so jealous of you,” I confessed, noticing the sadness appear in her eyes.

“Of me? You’re the younger, more beautiful one. Jeez, Alice!”

“I’m just in awe of you. You’re so lovely and strong, whereas I’m just a bitch.”

“You’re not. Stop this bullshit. Do you love Lucas?”

I gazed at her in response as she laughed.

“Dad said if you two don’t get back together, he’s going to kill you both and put you in a joint grave so you can spend eternity together.”

I smiled then as I groaned.

“I’m not going there if he’s got women there.”
