“The only piece of shit around here is you! Get the fuck out of my house!” Mom roared as Steve laughed.

“If I go, I’m taking this sweet little thing along for the ride, along with my future wife. What’s your name, sweetheart?”

“Fuck you!” I heard Alice spit back, and I heard another crash; this time, it was followed by the sound of the women screaming.

Zane didn’t hesitate as he bolted downstairs, making me close my door in terror.

What was going to happen?

I began to rock, pulling my knees to my chest as I sank against the door.

"Tell me you have a plan," I muttered to Dad when Rosie walked in with the bastard that was Steve.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but his eyes drifted over me hungrily when he walked in, and I realized he was another prick.

Rosie clapped her hands with glee when she saw us, my Dad glaring at Steve as he followed his gaze to me.

"I wanted to meet the guy that's marrying our little Layla." Dad smiled, nodding at Rosie.

"Well, here he is! Steve!" Rosie grinned as Steve studied Dad warily.

"Nice to meet you."

"I wish I could say the same," Dad said darkly, as Rosie's mouth opened in shock.

"Cal! What—”

"How is Finn, Steve?" Mom asked, crossing her arms as she glared at him.

Steve looked puzzled before licking his lips.

"Uh, the last time I saw him, he was fine. Sorry, have I missed something here?"

"Yeah, dickhead. The part where you get your things and fuck off out of Layla's life," I spat as he bared his teeth at me playfully.

"Down, kitty," he drawled as Rosie stared at us in dismay.

"Wait, guys. What is going on? This is absurd—”

"Rosie, Steve has been blackmailing Layla into being with him. Isn't that true, Cal?" Mom asked, tilting her head over to Dad as he shook his head slowly.

"You piece of shit. If you've touched my daughter—”

"Touched her? I'vedefinitelydone that. What the fuck is this?" Steve addressed Dad with a glare. "Do you think you and these bitches can take me out? Please."

His tone had changed now, the venom in his voice making me feel nauseous.

How long had Layla put up with this piece of shit?

"Steve! You can't speak like that—" began Rosie, as he cut her off with a dismissive wave.

"Listen, beautiful; I'm bored of listening to you. I see why Finn ditched you now. All ass and no sass. Mind you; he's probably dead now anyway."

Mom gasped, and Rosie paled.
