I stared at the words, anger clouding my vision.

“Get him on the fucking phone, now.”

Richie nodded, handing me his phone after he dialed a succession of buttons. The phone rang in my ear, and I heard the voice of my enemy.

“Lucas, good to hear from you finally. You’ve been avoiding my calls.”

“Listen to me carefully. If you touch-”

“Touch? Have you seen this girl?” he murmured, making bile rise in my stomach. “I will do whatever the fuck I want with her; she is too tempting. I’ll have to wait until she wakes up though, I prefer them to fight.”

I closed my eyes as I spoke through gritted teeth.

“If you touch her, I will kill you and every one of your men, trust me.”

“You like her, don’t you? I’m excited. Is she good in the sack? I’ll let you know what I think. She should be awake soon.”

He hung up then, and I threw the phone at the wall, roaring out in anger.

“I want every man on this rightfuckingnow. Find Alice, that son of a bitch has her,” I spat, pushing past him into my office. I picked up my trusty gun, making sure it had bullets.

This fucker is going to die.

“Say that again?”

Eugene shuffled in front of me as he rubbed his neck before repeating the sentence that had just ended several lives.

“Andre Mastos has taken Alice, we’re pretty sure it’s her, Leo.”

I stared at my old friend, feeling a wave of anger unlike any other flood my veins. I stood, pushing past him and into the car that sat on the drive waiting for me.

“Drive,” I barked at Troy, the driver, as Eugene slid in beside me.

“One of our boys saw her there last night. She caused quite a stir; apparently, she punched Danno and made him bleed.”

I grimaced, closing my eyes. Out of anyone that a shitty local gangster could take, Alice would be the only one to try and take on his men.

Fuck my life.

“Is this a vendetta against me? Do I even have a history with this fool?” I spat as Eugene handed me a gun.

“Nope. Nothing. Small-time wannabe gangster. I’ve looked into it- the only other gang nearby is dealing with cocaine and trafficking girls. Rumour has it he is interested in taking a slice of their pie,” Eugene muttered, and I frowned.

“So why Alice?”

Eugene refused to meet my eyes as the silence between us answered me.

“Trafficking? I willburythe fuckingcunt.”

The car sped through the streets effortlessly before turning into an area I was unfamiliar with. The houses were dingy, and my gut twisted at the thought of my baby being here. The car stilled at a house that had men standing guard in every direction, their hands on guns you couldn’t see. Eugene grinned at me before Troy got out of the car first.

“It’s gonna be like old times.” Troy chuckled, twisting his neck in different directions before cracking his knuckles.

The three of us walked up, looking like three older guys who weren’t much of a threat to anyone.
