Nothing worse than walking in on your parents’ dry humping. Well, it could be, I suppose. We could have been fucking going at it when he walked in.

I sighed, lying back on the bed, staring at the open window. The soft breeze pushed through the curtains, creating a ripple in the fabric. Laughter echoed from the street below, a car door slamming in the distance.

Caleb was with Jade.

I grinned, as I’d always known he would end up with her if she gave him the tiniest chance. She had, coming from the moans we were all subjected to hearing late one night.

My eyelids closed as I fell into a lazy doze, my breathing becoming deeper as my mind wandered into the land of dreams. I didn’t see Gretchen come back in, but I felt her body pressing against mine as she kissed my chest softly. Subconsciously, my arms wrapped around her, a smile on my face as she rested against me.

Gretchen was right—you can’t help who you fall in love with.

EPILOGUE PART 1

JADE

“The name’s Fallon. Caleb Fallon,” Caleb smirked as he blew smoke from an imaginary gun. I turned to the doorway to see him, my heart stopping as I did.

“Wow,” I breathed, taking in the tuxedo, his hair slicked back as he grinned at me. “To be fair, I couldn’t think of any character more worthy of you thanJames Bond.”

His eyes slid over me slowly as I turned back to the mirror, pointing to the emerald green dress that hung on my wardrobe.

“Could you hand me that dress?”

“I’m afraid not. I prefer you like that.”

“Caleb—” I whined, giving him a look that had him holding his hands up in defeat.

He removed the dress off the hanger, holding it out for me to step into. He slid it up my thighs and effortlessly over my stomach as I pushed my arms through the spaghetti straps.

His hands found my waist as he spun me around, so I was facing the mirror. Lightly kissing my shoulder, he gazed at me, his fingers finding the zip. The dress tightened when he zipped it up, his eyes widening as it hugged my curves.

I resisted the smug grin that was threatening to expose me, the power that I had over him still baffling to me.

“Jade Chung, seriously, man. You’re fuckinginsane,” Caleb groaned while I admired myself in the mirror, turning sideways before nodding.

“At least I look the part.” I shrugged as he raised an eyebrow in my direction.

“You look like a model when you wake up in the morning. I’m a lucky fuck, and I know it.”

My eyes met his in the mirror, and my heart raced. He smiled knowingly, his hand slipping down my back to rest on my butt.

“Remind me why we are doing this again?”

“It’s your grandfather’s birthday party,” I scolded, moving his roaming hand away.

“We’ve got time—”

A rapping on the door interrupted us, and I shot him anI-told-you-solook in the mirror.

“You guys ready?” Alice trilled as I slipped on my silver heels.

Caleb took a long look at me before groaning. “Later, you’re wearing just those,” he commanded with finality, as I rolled my eyes.

“Yes, Sir.”

“Mmm,don’tcall me that. My sister is standing outside.”

I reached past him, swinging the door open to reveal Alice in a floor-length red dress. The leg was slit up to the thigh, showing her tanned legs that seemed to go on forever. Her platinum blonde hair tumbled around her shoulders in waves as she nodded at us approvingly.
