“Jade. Shall we go?” JT leered from behind her, slipping his slimy hands around her waist. She looked away from me as she turned, falling into him.
“Whoops. Someone has had too much to drink,” Summer said, trying to pull Jade away from JT while begging me with her eyes to intervene. “Maybe she should have some water to sober up.”
“JT. Go get her some water,” Gabe commanded as he stared at him. “Surely you don’t want to take a drunk girl home to fuck, do you?”
“Um, Iamhere, Gabe,” Jade drawled, and JT nodded, moving Jade towards Summer.
“Wait here. I’ll get you some water.”
JT pushed past me, his shoulder shoving into mine. I gritted my teeth, wanting to rip his throat out. I turned back to see Jade staring at me as she sauntered over, half falling as I caught her in my arms. She slipped her arms around my neck, gazing at me.
“Dance with me, Caleb,” Jade whispered in my ear, her perfume heavy as she pressed her face close to mine.
She pulled me onto the dance floor, allowing the crowd to swallow us. We danced, her back against my body as she grabbed my hands, moving them up her torso and under her breasts, pushing her ass against me.
I couldn’t help but respond, my fingers lacing into her hair as I pulled it slightly so that her eyes were gazing up at me. Running my hand up her thigh, I brushed the soft skin under the dress as I buried my face in her neck.
“Does he make you feel like this?” I muttered, turning her around and pushing her against the wall as she gasped, her eyes wide. I reached down, pulling her legs around me, watching as she gazed at my lips, her fingers in my hair. “Or this? Doesanyonemake you feel like I do?”
“Caleb…” Jade groaned as I pushed myself against her, tugging her hair again. My breathing turned heavy as her fingers dug into my skin, her teeth on her lip as she bit down hard. “Kiss me,please.”
I stared at her, our lips so close I could smell the wine on her breath. I slowly released her, her feet touching the ground as she gazed up at me.
“Not yet,” I whispered, our fingers lacing together. She blinked as her gaze turned to someone besides me.
“Hate to break this up, but she’s withme,” JT barked, pulling us apart.
Jade looked at me in panic as I turned back to him.
“Let her decide that,” I muttered, squaring up to him as Summer and Gabe pushed through the crowd, eager to reach us.
“JT, leave it. She’sdrunk. I need to get her home,” Summer hissed, wrapping her arms around Jade, who stood silently.
“Shecanfucking talk. Jade? What are you doing?” JT asked over my shoulder.
“I’ll go home with Summer,” Jade mumbled as I smirked at him.
“There you go, she spoke. Now fuck off,” I suggested when Gabe stood between us.
“You’re just pissed off she chosemeover you,” JT said, pointing at Jade over my shoulder. He backed off upon seeing my glare.
“Let’s go,” Gabe said, nodding at me to help Jade as he guided Summer out of the house.
Jade’s fingers laced with mine, and I pulled her along with me quickly, my arm firmly around her waist as she slumped against me. Summer reached around and pulled Jade’s dress down to protect her modesty as I pushed her hand away.
“No one will touch her. Chill out.”
“I don’t want them seeing something they shouldn’t,” she retorted, giving Jade a once over.
“They won’t. Because I’ll poke their fucking eyes out,” I snapped.
Gabe stopped a taxi that had just dropped some latecomers off. He nodded at me, and we walked over to the car, as Summer helped Jade in.
Jade curled up next to me as she fell asleep. Summer smirked at me from the other side. We gave our address as the taxi peeled away from the curb, Jade snoring softly into my chest as I moved her hair out of her eyes. I couldn’t help but feel happy she was safe. I didn’t want to imagine what her night could’ve ended like. I kissed the top of her head as I held her close to me, milking the moment for all it was worth.
“She’s always liked you,” Summer whispered. I frowned back at her.
“Nah, she hasn’t. Trust me. I’ve tried.”
