Patting her stomach Violet calls out “Pretty sure someone said food?”

Not even three minutes later, we are pulling up to a local Cafe. One thing a small country town doesn’t lack: cafes.

Heads turn, eyes widen, and mouths start whispering. I didn’t think the way we were walking was going to give us away.Axel on her left, Maverick on her right, and me at her back. Violet is walking with her head held high like the fucking Queen she is. But then a thought crosses my mind.

I lean forward so only the three of them can hear me, “I think those nosey neighbours of our parents have been talking.”

Axel grunts. Maverick laughs. Violet rolls her eyes.

“Seventeen, little one.”

I don’t see or hear her response because James, the spineless fucker, is right in front of us, eyes widening as he takes us in. I can see the questions in his eyes, then it changes to anger. This is going to be interesting.

“I didn’t want to believe it.” James’ eyes bounce between the four of us.

“Believe what?” Axel steps forward to protect Violet.

James looks at Violet, “You dating all three of them like a common– “

My turn. “Don’t you fucking dare finish that.”

James noticeably swallows and takes a step back. Violet puts her hand on my forearm to stop me.

“You cheated on me, remember?”

“Your Mum called me. She’s worried about the choices you’re making.”

“She called you?”

“Yes, we chat occasionally.” His eyes dart around.

“Are you sleeping with my mother?” Violet chuckles intending the comment as a joke, but James starts to blush stumbling over his words, “What? No! What?”

“You look mighty guilty there, James.” If it’s true Dad is going to be heartbroken; he actually likes the witch.

“You cheated on me with Jessica, and maybemy Mum, and you’re worried about me? You disgust me. You are no better than the dirt beneath my feet. Now fuck off.”

“This might not be a great time, but is anyone else getting hard?” Maverick is always the one to keep the mood light.

“You’re not the only one.” Because watching Letty get fired up has my cock twitching.

We watch James scurry off before finding some seats and looking over the menu. I take this moment to mention my little idea.

“So, Letty, I’ve been thinking. The city.”

“I’m not asking you guys to uproot your lives here for me.”

“You’re not asking. I’m suggesting.”

Violet looks between all of us then behind us, at the others in the Cafe.

“Maybe.”

“You can finish your last semester online. I can get work remotely for now while I look for a new job and Axel will find a job easy enough. My only worry is Maverick.”

“What are you talking about? I own the shop, remember? I can get those knuckleheads to do the work and I’ll come back twice a week to make sure they haven’t burnt it the ground.”

“That’s a lot of driving.”
