“Yes.” I swallow. They wouldn’t do anything, not when Mum and Xavier are home.
They are about to take another step or simply pounce on me, but a noise catches all three of us. Landon strolls in.
“Pretty sure I said the boxes were in my room.”
“Couldn’t help but come say hi to Violet.”
“Yeah, and to let her know she has an extra spank in the count.” Maverick looks at me just in time to watch the blush creep up my neck.
Clearing my throat I address Landon, “Thought you were waiting until all your stuff came?”
“Going to miss me, Letty?” Cocky prick.
“I didn’t say that.”
“Your mouth might not have but your body sure as hell did.”
Landon walks across to me, ignoring the guys completely. Looking into my eyes, I can’t read the emotions dancing over his features. He walks behind me so he’s facing the guys as well. Putting his head on my shoulder while his hands rest on my hips. “Tell the guys what you said this morning”.
“What did you say little one?” Maverick seems nervous.
Suppressing an eye roll, I’m already at nine, “Surprised you haven’t told them yet.”
“Tell us Violet” Axel steps forward.
“I might consider maybe um moving in. Maybe.” I drop my eyes to the floor, three sets of eyes on me can be intimidating.
Reaching out, Axel places his forefinger under my chin, raising so I’m looking up at him, “Don’t look at the floor when you tell us news like that.”
I smile at him, reaching up on my tiptoes to kiss him when Mum’s voice breaks through the moment. I drop to my feet and take a big step away from them.
“Oh, boys, there you are. Why are you all in here?” she eyes me suspiciously.
“Just checking how Violet did with that assignment she was telling me about last night.” He shoots me a look saying, remember last night when I had my face buried between your legs.I break the eye contact.
“Okay,” she drawls, “well would you boys like to stay for dinner?”
“Sure, Claire, sounds great.”
“Thanks, Claire,” Maverick and Axel speak at the same time.
With that, she’s wearing a stupid beaming smile as she walks away. I roll my eyes, regretting it immediately.
“Ten.” Maverick chuckles. “You look gorgeous, little one.”
“I’m in sweats.”
“Gorgeous,” he repeats, walking over and kissing my forehead.
“Beautiful.” Axel kisses my cheek.
“Well fucked.” Landon ruins the moment but kisses my other cheek, and they all walk out.
Another dinner with the trio and our parents. What could possibly go wrong?
Nothing.Absolutely nothing happens at dinner. They are all suspiciously well-behaved, and I don’t like it.
Mum beckons me to help with the dishes and cleaning up with dinner. The feminist in me wants to tell her no, but the argument that would bring is not worth it. I silently rinse the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher while she puts the leftovers in containers. In typical mum fashion, she is ignoring me.
