Don’t fuck this up.

Say you’re sorry.

Beg if you have to.

Cling onto her for dear life.

Amelia finally is standing within arm’s reach of me, when she stops.

“Amelia …”

She walks into my embrace and wraps her hands behind my neck. I close my eyes and I rest my forehead on hers.

“Amelia…” is all I can manage to say as my brain is in overdrive. I don’t even notice the mob of photographers surrounding us.

Amelia leans back an inch. “Evan Cooper, you better look at me when I say this,” she smiles as soon as my eyes meet hers.

I pull her closer by the small of her back and keep her flush to me.

“I love you, Evan. I messed up, and I’m sorry. I came here to let you know that I’m ready.” She smiles tenderly. “I told you at the cabin that it would always be you. When I was ready, I would be choosing you. Well, that’s now baby. I’m ready for us, and everything that comes along with that—”

Before she can carry on, my lips are crashing into hers and I can feel her smiling on my lips.

I can faintly gather that people have now surrounded us and are cheering us on while snapping photos.

“Wait, wait. Say something! Am I forgiven?!” Amelia giggles as she tries to escape from my desperate kiss.

“I love you. I love you so much Amelia, I am so sorry I hurt you. I swear to you it is not what you think. I’ll tell you everything tonight, I promise.” I brush her cheek with my thumb.

“Oh, I know,” she says, eyeing me mischievously.

“You know?” I ask, perplexed.

“I had a nice little chat with LC today. Crazy family resemblance if I do say so myself.” She smirks.

My jaw drops and she leans into my ear. “Baby, they’re taking lots of pictures of us, can you please not look like I just told you that I’m pregnant or something?” She chuckles.

I suddenly become hyper aware of our surroundings and holy hell has it gotten hectic around us.

I feel someone tap my shoulder and notice that it’s Hayden. “Teddy is out front with the car. Now you can leave boss,” he says with a wink.

I look back to Amelia. “He knew?! What the hell is happening?” I ask, shocked.

“We can talk about it in the car. Let’s go before you owe Maribel a fortune for ruining this dress!”

I grab her hand and I start to lead us out of the venue. Flashes never falter as I stare down at her and she beams at me. We must look like a runaway brideandgroom.

Which reminds me. My plan to get her to marry me is back on.

We make it to the awaiting SUV, and it takes both Teddy and I to carefully get all of Amelia’s dress in the car, and I’m loving every second of it. Once she’s finally settled, I run to the other side of the car while waving at the awaiting paparazzi. I don’t think I’ve ever even acknowledged them, and now I’m smiling at them like a lovesick fool with red lipstick smeared on my lips.

We make it to my apartment in record time and we wish Teddy a goodnight. Once Amelia arrived at the charity event, she had the forethought to let Hayden know that I would want us to have security for the night, so I am greeted with my usual team at the entrance of the building, and the rest wait upstairs in my hallway.

“Am I that predictable?” I ask as I open the door to my apartment.

“I wanted everything to be perfect tonight, and I knew you wouldn’t relax unless you knew I was fully safe while staying at your place.” She kisses the back of my hand.

Once the door is locked and the security system is activated, I pull her into my arms again. “I love you so much Amelia. Please never leave me like that again,” I say as I stare into her eyes.
