And I hauled Krispin up into my arms.

Cassie smiled; she knew what this meant.

She crowded in close, and I took our picture.

Krispin gasped, “Picture?”

I chuckled, “As long as we print it and it doesn’t leave our house. Think that becoming a family warrants a picture, don’t you?”

He nodded.

The day was here.

And with Krispin in front of me, Garrick at my side, and my team filling up the end of the dock, along with our family and friends, I waited.

And when I saw her, I smiled.

“Daddy?” Krispin asked.

I bent at the waist, never taking my eyes off Cassie, when I asked, “Yeah, little man?”

“Mommy looks pretty, doesn’t she?”

I grinned, “Yeah, she does.”

And the moment Cassie made it to us on Jacob’s arm, he was smiling widely, then he handed her hand to me and said, “Take care of her, boy. She’s a precious soul.”

I nodded, “Always.”

The moment I had her in front of me... she cried.

Because Krispin had said, “You look pretty, Mommy.”

I had made a concession for the day.

I had bought two disposable cameras and handed one to Talia and one to Sire.

And if anyone had their phone out, it was chucked into the pond.

Oh.... and we got pronounced unofficially as man and wife, since we were already married, on our dock.

I led her to the dance floor, and then gathered her in my arms, and whispered, “I love you.”

She smiled, “I love you too.”

Then, whenLonestar’s Amazedstarted playing, I sang the words softly to her.

What had both of us laughing was that everyone had asked who had walked Cassie down the aisle.

Then Jacob sauntered over and said, “Believe y’all call me Old Man Hooper.”

Jaws hit the ground.

It had taken some time, but Tyron had worked hard for me.
