I winked, “Cause it’s your first night here. I want you to know that you're safe.”

He nodded, then he asked, “Are you going to sit there all night?”

I nodded, “If that’s what you need, then absolutely.”

He didn’t say anything as I heard his little feet walking back to his bed.

Then I heard the frame and knew he lay back down.

Three hours later, I was still sitting there when I heard his little feet again.

He was rubbing his eyes as he headed to the bathroom, and I wanted to chuckle when he saw me still sitting there; his eyes widened.

Then he said, “You weren’t lying.”

I shook my head, “Never lie to you, Krispin. And neither would Cassie.

On the second night, I was in the chair, and Krispin said, “Thank you, Alec. But I’m okay now.”

I nodded.

It was a week later, and the realtor called.

We were on the second-to-last house when I watched Cassie’s eyes widen.

This was the one.

It had dark blue siding with walnut-stained accents.

Two stories, and a front porch with a swing.

She gasped when she saw the kitchen, farmhouse style.

Then the master bedroom and the walk-in closet.

As well as the other two bedrooms.

I smiled and nodded, then I looked at our relator, “We’ll t....”

“Wait,” Cassie said.

Then she looked down at Krispin, “What do you think?”

His little eyes widened, then he asked, “Me?”

Cassie nodded, “Yeah, not only will this be ours, but it’ll be yours too.”

Krispin visibly swallowed, then he looked at me, and then up at Cassie, and he smiled.

“We’ll take it.”

Fourteen days later, I was off the crutch, and my family was helping us move in.

So had the guys.

When I had told my team about Krispin, they had been ready to come here and beat the shit out of all of them.
