"You are not going to touch him over me. I can handle it."

"Yeah aight," he mumbled.

"Omiri, I'm serious."

"Shit, me too." He stepped to me. "But now that I know how these niggas are getting down with your so-called business, we need to address some stuff."

"Like what?"

"Like the fact that you're cool with shit like that knowing you’re not single."

I laughed hard. "I'm very much single."

"Nah, not the way I've been in them guts every night over the past week. That's plural like a muthafucker. Single is one. Your pussy and my dick make two."

I rolled my eyes. "That's just sex. Not a relationship. I'm single, Omiri. Nothing with us is defined."

"Aight then, let's define things." He dropped his hands to my hips and yanked me flush against his body. "We're in a little situation and I'm cool with keeping that exclusive. No other niggas getting your attention and no other women getting mine."

"So this goes both ways then?" I searched his face, needing clarity. "You're not having sex with any other women?"

"Kari, I haven't been with anyone but you since you let me in them guts." He smiled sexily. "Between training, Avi, and you, I've been a little busy."

"Okay, so for now we're sexually exclusive to each other but that's it. Just the physical."

"Yeah I'm cool with that." His words flowed easily but I could see the hesitation in his eyes, like he wanted to say more. "But that doesn't mean I'm gonna let other men talk to you crazy. Especially not one of my teammates. That's a definite hell fucking no."

"Leave that child alone."

He snorted. "McClain is twenty-four. He's a grown fucking man, trying to fuck."

"And I'm a grown woman who knows how to handle myself. Plus, the last thing you need is drama with one of your teammates over me."

He smirked arrogantly. "I promise I won't do anything he doesn't deserve."

"Omiri."

"What, man? I'm giving you my word." He grinned wider when I narrowed my eyes. "And you might want to find something safer to do than defending another man to me. That shit will end badly for him."

"I'm not doing this with you."

"Good because it's a waste of your time. Is Avi gonna be straight with ol’ girl tonight?"

"Tiana." I rolled my eyes because he refused to use her name. She was always ol’ girl or my homegirl.

He smiled cockily. "You know who I mean. My baby good to stay all night?"

"Yes, she's fine, why?"

"We have plans."

"What kind of plans?"

"My publicist gave me two tickets to Dinner in the Dark…"

I quickly shook my head. "How is that supposed to work? We can't be out like that."

"Yes we can. Nobody knows who you are and you won't have Avi with you. They wouldn’t even know you have a daughter because you kept her face off social media." He hit me with a look that gut punched because he was hinting at the fact that I hid her from not just the world but him too.
