When we got to the section, I saw Ezra grinning with a girl bent over in his lap. River stood close by, eyeing the crowd. I knew it was his men that guarded the club. I was prepared to go to him and let him know his man downstairs’ time was limited when something caught my eye. Walking toward us was Nazai, but what caught my eye was the topless girl walking next to him. He wasn’t paying her any attention. His eyes were locked on me as if I was his prey and he was a lion. The way the girl grinned and ran her hand down his arm caused my eye to twitch. My eyes narrowed, remembering her from the first time I was here. She was all over Nazai then too. The two looked familiar. A feeling I’d never felt before twisted in my stomach. My grip on the knife tightened.
“This is a surprise.” He paused in front of me.
I pressed my lips together tightly and my gaze shifted to the girl whose face was balled up. She eyed me as if I was gum stuck on the bottom of her shoe.
“I was in the area.” My eyes narrowed. “Unless you want to lose that hand, I advise you to remove it from my husband’s arm.”
Nazai’s mouth ticked up in amusement. The girl’s eyes widened and she opened her mouth to speak.
“Go ahead and get ready for your set, Majesty. I’ll handle it,” he told her without taking his eyes off me.
Her face balled up and she rolled her eyes before turning and storming off in her six-inch, clear heels.
“I got it from here, Bruce.” Nazai dismissed him and stepped to me. His arm went around my waist. I flinched slightly and my breathing staggered. He leaned down so his mouth was close to my ear. “You aren’t dressed to come out. Does that mean you missed me?” He kissed the shell of my ear. For a second I closed my eyes and embraced the gesture, realizing I liked it.
“No.” I pulled away from him, realizing what I was doing. He chuckled lowly then pulled up.
Nazai held me and turned us to guide me inside the section. “Sis!” Ezra called out. The girl was still in his lap entertaining him. I paused and turned to River.
He noticed me and raised a brow. I pulled away from Nazai and leaned toward River. “You should warn your guys about putting their hands on the wrong people.”
I was snatched back and Nazai’s arm wrapped protectively around me. “The only man’s ear you should be whispering in is mine,” he whispered before he kissed the shell of my ear.
My stomach fluttered. I turned to him. “You and River need to vet your guys better. One downstairs grabbed me and?—”
“Someone grabbed you?” The playfulness in his voice left and his face straightened.
“That guy Ted.” His eyes turned deadly. My stomach swirled and blood rushed in my veins. He lifted his attention to River and stepped to him, leaning over and speaking to him quietly. River glanced at me, nodding every so often.
Finally they broke apart and River pulled his phone out of his pocket and tapped the screen before leaving the section.
“Did he hurt you?” Nazai’s eyes leveled on me and he scanned me. I had on black leggings and a black jacket so none of my skin was visible.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “No.” I waved him off.
The loud music caused a thumping in my chest. I turned and moved closer to Nazai, realizing the crowd had grown bigger. I wasn’t even sure what made me come here. Tension filed through me and I clenched my fists.
“Here you go, sis.” I jumped, not realizing Ezra had come over to us. “Have a drink.”
I side-eyed him then the drink. Nazai played interference before I could think about grabbing it.
“If anyone’s offering my wife a drink, it’s me.”
Mirth formed on Ezra’s face. “You’re taking this marriage seriously, huh big bro?” He grinned, downing the drink he’d just offered me.
“As long as my ring’s on her finger and my collar’s on her neck, it is serious.” Subconsciously I reached up and touched the leather on my neck. I hated the way heat flooded my stomach at the possessiveness dripping from Nazai’s tone.
“Stop treating me like I’m your property!” I protested.
Nazai stared down at me and smirked. “Youaremy property, Wildfire.” He licked his lips, eyeing me.
My cheeks flushed and I snatched my eyes from him.
“I got some work I need to get back to, but stay here with Ezra. I’ll have a drink brought over to you and Bruce is gonna stand on guard outside,” Nazai told me after a few minutes. He and Ezra made eye contact, having a silent conversation.
Nazai leaned down. I held my breath when he moved in, pressing a kiss to the shell of my ear, then moving to peck my lips. “Be good and I might have them bring you something extra.” He winked at me. My cheeks grew redder seeing Ezra grinning at us.
Nazai turned and left the section.
