“Thanks, my love,” Ethan said, grateful to his man. The last thing he wanted to do was leave Corbin alone. He was struggling.

“I’ll text you anything that we get that you can use to start working this,” Gene said. “See you later, handsome.”

And with that, he hung up.

As Ethan sat there, he considered the situation at hand, and what Gabe was doing. Normally, he’d be pissed that Gabe had dropped this on them.

Chapter Five

Washington D.C.

The Leonard Residence

Saturday

Mid-Morning

What Elizabeth really liked was Saturdays not working where she could lounge around and enjoy the day off from chasing killers. For her, that was like a little reward for all of the hard work.

Honestly, time off combined with Saturdays were few and far between in her world, but once in a while, she got damn lucky to have a weekend off.

Elizabeth was proving that she was climbing the ladder the hard way—by earning it, and he was doing the same by writing countless papers to be published.

There were symposiums, and conferences that he attended, getting speaking gigs to progress his career in forensics.

All the while, holding up the forensic unit for the FBI. Yeah, Doctor Christopher Leonard was making a name for himself.

And Elizabeth couldn’t be prouder.
