“He prefers if the people around him refrain from cursing. When they use profanity, everyone gives him a dollar for each bad word.”
“He buys material with it,” Chrysander added. “How else do you think we’d get such nice clothes for Ell?”
“Elven D’Vaire helped me make Elf’s tunic and pants,” Tiri argued. “And they made his dragonskin cloak.”
“Did you just call him Elf?” Eldridge asked as Escott took a few shots with his cell phone.
“He istheDraconis Elf. The only elf, or any kind of dragon hybrid, to survive his shift. For that reason, we started using the nickname. However, when he was trapped in his dragon form, it took on new meaning. We didn’t want anyone, including his beast, to forget that there was an elf in there. To us, he’ll always be Elf. That title means more to the dukes of Court Draconis than the one Fate gave him the day he met my brother,” Damian explained.
“I’m glad they got that bastard who did that,” Harry remarked. “We were horrified when we heard about what happened to you.”
“And so thrilled when you were back on television as an elf,” Debra added with a warm smile.
“Plus, you’re like super-hot now,” Escott said.
Eldridge elbowed him and made a disgusted face. “He’s our brother. You aren’t supposed to think he’s hot.”
“Please. We’re related but I have eyes. It’s not like you don’t look at me and thank Fate you have a hot brother,” Escott argued.
“Oh, your brothers are going to be all kinds of fun,” Costas commented as the two bickered.
“I believe you are right,” Ellery said as he leaned against Chrysander. He hadn’t known what to expect. It certainly had not occurred to him that he had brothers or that the things he’d learned growing up weren’t necessarily the whole truth of the story between Harry and Aynleth. He wasn’t sure how close he would become with the Starndraconises, and while Ellery would keep an open mind, letting things fall into place as they were meant to, he intended to take his time moving forward.
Chapter 42
Chrysander was so proud of his mate. Once Ellery had been fearful of his place in the world after Fate made him Emperor. That was no longer a problem for him; he stood taller and met the eyes of any person in his path head on. His carriage had always been regal, but there was now an extra undefinable component to his personality people reacted to. Or, Chrysander mused, it might be the stunningly gorgeous face that stopped everyone in their tracks.
His beauty hit Chrysander at random moments, but when he was in his arms with his lips swollen from their kisses, he was at his best. They’d retired to their bedroom suite after an emotional day with Ellery’s family. It would be interesting to find out what was to become of those relationships, and Ellery was too smart not to proceed with caution.
“You must be thinking,” Ellery murmured.
“What makes you say that?”
“Hmm, I am sensing a certain lack of interest.”
“Lack of interest? I hardly think so.” Chrysander smoothed his hands over Ellery’s firm ass, pressing their cocks closer together, and they both moaned.
Ellery smiled against his mouth. “We are still wearing clothes. Usually we have moved a bit farther by now.”
“Maybe I wanted to take it slow tonight.”
“We have been kissing for…” Ellery lifted his head to see the clock. “Over an hour. And all you’ve done is fondle my butt.”
“Do you want an apology or something?”
The hybrid in his arms laughed. “No, I would like to have sex.”
Chrysander slid his hands into Ellery’s cotton pants and worked a finger into his crack. “I suppose it is my duty as your mate.”
“Yes, Your Majesty, it is.”
“And it probably doesn’t matter that we made love as recently as this morning.”
“Not one bit,” Ellery said huskily as Chrysander rubbed over his entrance.
“Would you be kind enough to uncover all the gold-dusted skin I love?”
“If you request nakedness, you know I must ask for the same.”
