“Of course. I do know a female I will take to the ritual with me. I’ll tell you all about it later because I might need your help,” Theo said.

“You might need—”

“I need to think about this. I’ll talk to you later,” Theo said and hung up the phone before Germaine could ask any more questions.

There was one way the council would have to accept his vow and help protect Gemma from her wolf pack. They certainly wouldn’t like it, but he really didn’t care. He wanted to protect Gemma because he admired her and because of his vow.

The great thing about his idea was that the wolves wouldn’t be able to do anything about the situation because Gemma would officially belong to him. At least, unless the entire wolf pack lost their minds and decided to attack the dragons. That would mean slaughter because the wolf shifters might outnumber the dragons, but the dragons were fierce fighters and very rarely, ever, lost a battle.

He said to the room, “There is only one way I can help her.”

Theo headed upstairs to the room where he left her. She had fallen asleep on the bed. He figured this was the first good sleep she had been able to get in a very long time, and he really didn’t want to wake her.

He noted she had the classic beauty of the girl next door. And with the right clothes and just a wee bit of makeup, she would look exactly like Scarlett Johansson’s twin.

His heart actually twinged a bit as he considered all she had been through. He quickly squashed the feeling. He wasn’t going down that road.
