Each woman nodded and smiled as he called out their name, except for Madeline, who looked more like she was snarling.

“Ladies, this is my mate, Gemma,” he said.

Gemma smiled shyly at them and said, “It’s very nice to meet you.”

“They are going to teach you about the dragon shifter ceremonies and rituals. You will learn about our legends, etiquette, and all that other proper stuff you need to know,” he said.

He directed the women into his living room and held Gemma back a little bit.

Theo put his lips on Gemma’s and said in a voice only she could hear, “You have to convince them we are truly mates.”

He kissed her gently but with all the passion that a lover would give to someone who had captured his heart.

Then, he said, also very softly, “Be careful of Madeline. She had been after me for a long time. She thought after I lost Savannah that she would take her place. However, I don’t really care for her, so there was absolutely no chance of that. However, that hasn’t stopped her from trying.”

With these words, he kissed her again, and Gemma slipped her arms around his neck. Theo was pretty sure that in spite of her protests from the day before, she would be more than willing to let him make love to her. However, she would have to come to him if that were to happen.

“I hate to break up such a lovely, romantic scene, but if we are to teach Gemma the ways of our clan, we need to get started. We only have a couple of days left,” Reagan said.

Theo kissed Gemma’s nose and sent her into the room full of the waiting women.

He stuck around outside the closed door, just to make sure everything was going as he hoped. As he thought, the first thing Chloe asked was how she had met Theo. Gemma said he had known her family for a very long time.

“True enough,” Theo said to himself.

After a couple more questions about herself, to which Gemma gave vague answers, Chloe said it was time to get started on their lessons.

“Like she’s going to learn to be a dragon shifter in just a couple of days,” Madeline snarked.

Theo thought about jumping in but then decided not to. That kind of remark would only make Gemma more determined to master everything.
