Jay gives me a side eye as Luca wiggles around between the two of us, he’s half on my lap, as well as Jay’s. “I’m limber, how about you, little yogi?”

I raise an eyebrow, “It’s a given.”

I’m kinda looking forward to getting out there, and I don’t think it’s going to take long. Tanner and Deb’s dance is magical, and it’s obvious they’ve practiced. Tann usually has two left feet, so it’s impressive to see him whirling Deb around and back to him, dipping her low and then pulling her back to him.

“Isn’t your mommy just the prettiest,” I say to Luca, who’s clapping his hands eagerly. “And your daddy is so clever spinning her around like that.”

“My mom and dad are married!” he’s been calling that out all day and it’s so freaking cute. Jay and I can’t help but laugh.

Luca runs out to them toward the end of the dance, because we just can’t contain the title guy any longer, and they all sway in a little bubble of three as they hold him. It’s so damned sweet.

Finally, our time is up to join in with the rest of the bridal party, consisting of Ben, Dad and the two bridesmaids, Lizzie and Sue.

“Let’s do it,” Jay grabs my hand and pulls me to my feet. “Don’t forget it’s two steps forward, two steps back, I’ll spin you left and we shimmy to the right.”

“Are you sure you’ve got all that?” I laugh as we take to the floor with Deb’s bridesmaids, Ben and Dad, who’s accompanying Lizzie until he gets to have a dance with Mom.

“Hey, I’ve been practicing, remember my cha-cha-cha?” He does that whole hip waggle thing as he gives me a little impromptu spin and pulls me into his embrace.

“Oh my god, I was wondering how long it would take you to say that.”

“You love it.”

“It was pretty cool out on the ice now I think about it.”

He laughs, throwing his head back as he remembers. “You can thank my team mates for that.”

“Well, it shows you were practising and they noticed it.”

“I didn’t want to disappoint you and step on your feet or some shit when today came around.” He shrugs.

I smile up at him as we start to move to the music. His grasp is warm and his eyes shine bright. “You could never disappoint me,” I say. “And you look sexy when you move those hips.”

He waggles them even more exaggerated than in dance class, when he was showcasing hischa-cha-chato Markus and we fall about laughing. It’s definitely entertaining, and the guests are clapping their hands, everyone watching us as we move together like we’ve been dancing way longer than just a few lessons together. Okay, a Skype call here and there, too, but we’ve been too busy in bed to really practice our steps seriously for the last two nights. “You look sexy no matter what you’re doing,” Jay says when he reels me in from a spin and tilts my chin up with his finger. “I could kiss you right now.”

My eyes bug wide and I give him a little shove. “Don’t you dare! Our next stop is over to my parents, I think my dad wants to dance with me before the night is out.”

“Are you sure they’re cool about us?” I had a chance to quickly talk to Jay in between photo takes with the bridal party.

“I think they’re adjusting to the idea, but yes. They love you.”

“Didn’t your dad threaten to kill me?”

I stifle a laugh and press my lips firmly together.

He narrows his eyes. “You think that’s funny?” He pokes me in the ribs.

“No, but that’s only if you hurt me.”

“You know I’ll never do that.”

“Well, you can’t say you haven’t been warned.”

He spins me again and I secretly like it. Neither of us have put a wrong foot forward, Jay barely even looks like he’s breaking a sweat. I knew he’d nail it. “Whatever you say, Little J.”
