Which I’m pretty sure he will.
I think.
“He’s a good kid.”
I sigh. He really seems like he is. Scared, a little traumatized, but a good kid. He reminds me a little of me, actually. Especially with his hair. We also have almost the same shade of green eyes. It’s kind of wild. Julian chuckles. “I think he shocked even himself when he met you.”
I laugh. “Yeah. I thought for a second he was going to be a dick. Wasn’t expecting such a good compliment.”
Julian sits down beside me and pulls me into is lap, nuzzling my throat. “Mmm. I think you’ll be good for him.”
I can only hope so. I hope that I can help nurture his interests and likes in a positive, healthy way. I’ll also physically fight anyone who tries to make him feel shit for them. “I’ll turn into Beck if people are mean to him.”
Julian laughs lightly, his breath fanning across my skin and making me shiver. “What do you mean?”
“I’ll go full Rocky. Beat the shit out of someone.”
Julian shakes his head, pulling back enough that he can cup my face and plant his lips to mine. “I don’t think that will be necessary, but I do love the determination, darlin’.”
I roll my eyes. “You’re such a shithead.”
“Guilty as charged,” Julian whispers, rubbing his nose along my cheek and placing kisses along my jaw. I sink intohis embrace, letting him hold me up and shower me with his gentle affection. The man’s practically made me a slut for it. Oh well. “So, what do you want to do with the rest of our kid-free day?” His voice is a low rumble in my ear. My cock perks up. I definitely have some ideas.
“We could play some board games,” I suggest, deciding to fuck with him a little bit.
Julian nips at my jaw. “Not what I had in mind.”
“Oh. My bad. We could watch a movie together.”
He groans, laving his tongue down my throat and sucking lightly on the skin. “Or,” he rasps, and my body heats up, lust spiking through me. “You could take me to bed.”
“Yeah. That. Let’s definitely do that.”
He stands up, lifting me with him effortlessly. He digs his fingers into my side, making me burst into laughter. “That’s for teasing me. Board games and a movie. You’ve lost your damn mind, darlin’.”
He pushes open our bedroom door and strides to the bed before tossing me down onto it. “Rude.” I pout up at him.
He rolls his eyes playfully. “Sure. I know you hate that.”
I want to laugh, but I can’t because then the game is over, so I jut my bottom lip out further and give him my best puppy dog eyes. “You better just get in here with me before I take offense.”
“Beforeyoutake offense? Are you forgetting that you wanted to play board games?”
This time I can’t help but laugh. “I didn’t actually want to play board games.”
Julian climbs in beside me and slides a hand under my shirt. “Yeah? What do you want to do instead?”
I make a face like I’m thinking really hard on it, but I already know how I’m hoping it’ll end. “Hmm, rock paper scissors? Winner tops?”
Julian lets out a loud laugh. “You’ve got a deal, darlin’.”
We both get up, adjusting until we’re sitting cross-legged across from each other. I giggle, entirely too excited about this. We put our hands up. “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot,” I say, doing the hand motions. I wait a split-second longer than Julian to see what he does. When he throws up rock, I put my hand out in the scissor motion.
He grins. “Best two out of three?”
I shrug. “Works for me. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” Again, I wait until he puts his hand out before I choose mine, and yet again he “beats” me with scissors to my paper.
He shakes his head with a chuckle. “I’m starting to think you’re throwing the game.”
