“What are you up to?” she asks.
“Let’s just say I know a guy. Well, two actually.”

“Claire, it posted. Wake up.”
From the haze of sleep, I hear my boyfriend’s voice, but I don’t respond. It’s too cozy here. Too warm and soft. Sleep is a wonderful thing, so why is he interrupting it?
“Claire, wake up,”
I hear his voice again, but then I feel his lips on mine. Mmmm…this is my favorite way to start the day. I open my eyes and run my hand over Pete’s chest. God, he’s gorgeous. I try to let my hand drift down his stomach and into the waistband of his boxers, but he stops me.
“Are you seriously waking me up with kisses but denying me access to your cock? That’s just cruel, Pete Effing Santos.”
He chuckles beside me. “I’m not stopping you, believe me. You just have one other thing to do first.”
“Hmmm…” I ponder, tapping my chin. “Is it sitting on your face while you lick my pussy?”
“Fuck,” he mutters as his eyes shutter closed and hishand grips his cock. “It will be now. But first, there’s something I’d like you to read.”
“Is it another column by that Pete Santos guy? His first one was pretty good.”
Pete pulls me close and grabs his phone. “This one’s way better. It’s by Claire Fowler. Maybe you’ve heard of her? She’s a staff writer atThe Prentiss Report.”
It’s true. Leslie had originally offered me a paid internship with the possibility of employment. But after Pete and I took our road trip, things changed.
We didn’t just go for a drive that day. We went to a diner about forty miles west of Woodcock. The information I learned that day, and everything I’ve learned since, is what I’m publishing this summer through Prentiss. I’ve read this article in all its iterations a hundred times, at least. But, okay. Even I can admit it’s kind of a big deal to have a story of this magnitude in a publication likePrentiss.
I let Pete hold the phone while I snuggle on his chest and read.
Widespread Corruption at Woodcock University
By Claire Fowler
A member of the athletic coaching staff at Woodcock University have been fired as a result of an ongoing investigation into criminal activity. The investigation is ongoing, and more dismissals are expected.
Assistant Ice Hockey Coach Daniel J Silva has been indicted by a grand jury on numerous counts connected to an illegal gambling ring, two counts of assault, and one count of furnishing alcohol to minors. Silva began working for Woodcock University three years ago. Prosecutorsallege that discovering Silva’s indiscretions was the key to unlocking a hotbed of corruption at WU.
Though Silva denies the allegations, former student athletes have come forward to share their experiences.
If found guilty, Silva could serve a lengthy sentence, but the repercussions don’t end there. Authorities are also investigating the Athletic Affairs department regarding allegations of hazing and abuse.
As this story develops, we’ll keep you posted.
“Damn, you’re good,” Pete says, smiling at me. “I said it before, Claire, but if you hadn’t had the balls to go after Sophie that night, that dickhole would still be running a gambling ring. Jesus.”
“It wasn’t just me. My two anonymous sources have provided more information than I could have hoped for. And I’d have never met them if you hadn’t introduced us.”
He shrugs. “They’re good guys, and they wanted to do the right thing. I just hope they make it out of this unscathed. They don’t deserve to lose a season of play because their Coach is a fucking criminal.”
“Agreed. I’ll do what I can to spread the word, but I won’t reveal my sources.”
“You’re amazing, you know that?”
“You’re not so bad yourself,” I tease. “You’re going to visit the baby today, right?” When Pete nods, I ask the question that’s been on my mind lately. “Will Kersey be there? How’s he doing?”
