“We can continue later.”

I tugged on my shorts as she put on her underwear. I turned her around and fastened her bra as I kissed her shoulder.

She let out a hum that sounded peaceful. Then I tugged her dress over her head.

“I shouldn’t have started something I can’t finish,” she said.

“We don’t have to rush. If you want, we can test that theory another time.” I tugged on my shirt.

She covered her face and shook her head. “I would hate to disappoint you or get ahead of ourselves.”

I swallowed, ready to reply, but she ran out of the room. It took me a second to get my body under control. I wasn’t sure what had happened was the right thing just yet. I would find her in a few minutes. First, I needed to see the captain.
