He opened his mouth like he wanted to say something but I raised my brows emphatically so he knew that was the wrong move to make. He tried to keep his head up as he walked away but I knew having his business out there was going to fuck with his pride.
And a wounded man was a dangerous one.
“I’m assuming he’s on a watchlist.”
My eyes went to Porsha after I’d gotten done ensuring this man went on about his business. I wasn’t about to have him come out blasting at us because I wasn’t paying attention.
“You fucking right. I know you heard that nigga low-key threaten my seed. His ass is done.”
“You really know some of everybody everywhere. How did you know that man’s business?” She still looked appalled at the news I’d delivered because of who that nigga used to be to her.
“The joys of being affiliated, baby. I don’t walk into anywhere blind.”
Porsha was studying my face before she shook her head and picked up her water again. “I don’t know how to feel about that.”
I watched her throat undulate as she sipped, and even that shit was sexy as fuck to me. “Should probably feel good as hell.”
“Hi, I was told there was a disturbance over here.”
I glanced up and peeped the young Black woman who was dressed in a full suit. She was probably a shift manager but I had to wonder who had called her over. They took their sweet ass time since that nigga was long gone.
“Yeah, your employee was getting on my nerves but he’s gone so it’s all good. As long as he stays away from my girl and any food that comes outta that kitchen we good. Cause I promise if it even looks like my shit has been fucked with, that’s a huge problem you don’t want.”
She started nodding profusely as Pretty shook her head like I was embarrassing her. “Understand. He doesn’t handle food and he’s been sent home for the day. Your meal is on us.”
“Cool.” She lingered around and I could see P scrunch her face up like she was about to go off. “Not to be rude Miss, but my girl ain’t wrapped any tighter than I am. You might want to state your piece before she has you resting in it.”
She nodded quickly before looking at Porsha apologetically. “Oh sure, yes right. You’re Corey Chambers, right?”
“Yeah.” My hand was discreetly on my hip, ‘cause why was she calling me by my government name and shit?
“Oh, I’m a big fan. Welcome to Houston. Glad thatFinessebroke away from the Laws when she did. I love her work and it seems to have only gotten better.”
“‘Preciate it. We got more new talent coming out and Ness is in the studio as we speak. Thank you for giving our people a chance.”
“Thank you for bringing back real art to the genre. I hope that you’ll find some talent this way to put Houston back on the map. If you need anything else I’m Shaundra. Enjoy your meal.” With a nod, she smiled at us again and then left to go wherever the hell she’d been before she had to come over here.
“Did you just go from promising to shoot this place up to gaining a fan?” Porsha’s face held a look of wonder to it and I was kinda shocked my damn self.
“I guess I did.”
She sat back watching me before she shook her head. “We as women really have to stop liking unhinged behavior because you need the police called on you. That was an obvious terroristic threat.”
“You trying to leave me, Pretty? Have me going out in a blaze of glory? Them walls can’t keep me from you.” I reached across the table and took her hand before she snatched it back playfully.I wiggled my fingers and she obediently placed her fingers in mine.
“You might actually be insane.” Porsha was faking like she was normal but from the smile she was trying to hide she loved that shit.
“And you let me nut in that pussy and put my baby in there so what that say about you?”
She burst out laughing but my Black ass was being dead ass.
“Corey.”
“Stop saying my name like that, Porsha. They already giving us special treatment because of your old work that was over here bothering us. Think I won’t have you in here spread out on this table like an appetizer.”
She shifted in her seat as if that was gone ease the ache in her pussy I knew she was feeling.Only we can, baby.“I like this side of you.”
“I thought you were just saying you needed to stop liking unhinged men.”
