“Garrett?” I questioned him before he shook his head. It looked like we wouldn’t talk about what had happened.
He wiped his hand on the sheets, standing and pulling his shorts back up. I felt weirdly exposed without him next to me. I pulled up my sweats and curled onto my side. Maybe I shouldn’t feel like this after one of the best orgasms I had ever experienced.
The bed dipped again, and I felt him move up behind me. He easily shoved me into a sitting position, pulling me into his lap. Garrett’s legs bracketed either side of me, soothing his hands up and down my arms as I sank into his chest.
“Garrett?” I tried again. A loud exhale sounded out behind me and his hands stilled on my arms.
“I shouldn’t have touched you.”
I tensed in his embrace. I knew he was going to say it, but it didn’t make the words sting any less. He’d been clear at the beginning that this was a bad idea. I’d pushed for it, but I hadn’t asked for him to touch me. I’d been fine with watching him.
“Then why did you do it?” I’d wanted his hands on me, more than anything. It’d been hot as hell, but the regret came hard and fast. It was stupid of me to think that he’d wanted this too.
Garrett rested his chin on my shoulder, wrapping his arms around me and holding me. This embrace felt different now. We’d done this in the past, but it felt like it held more meaning now.
“To be honest? You’re hard to resist. That’s why this is so dangerous.”
My dick liked that answer. It gave a triumphant twitch in my pants but I knew nothing else was going to happen this morning. I knew it the second Garrett pulled away, kissing the side of my head and sliding out of the bed. But his words gave me a small glimmer of hope that not all was lost. He found me attractive, he’d admitted that much.
I watched in awe as he opened the bedroom door, looking down the hall. He was likely checking for our parents. It wasn’t unusual for us to be found in my room, but I could see why he’d be extra cautious this morning.
He slipped out the door and I let go of the breath I’d been holding. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I seriously had never considered being with a guy, but Garrett had woken up something in me yesterday. I needed him to help me explore it.
Garrett
“Youdidwhat!”Ipulled the phone away from my ear. I knew it was a bad idea to call and talk to my cousin about this. She was the only other person I knew I could talk to. She’d recently come out about dating her girlfriend, Lucy.
Ava had been the only person in the family who’d known about my bisexuality as she’d kept it quiet about herself. She was a few years older than me and had recently graduated from beauty school. Even more baffling was that she hid it from her queer friends. She’d said she didn’t feel the need to announce it, especially when she wasn’t dating anyone seriously.
I put the phone to my ear and huffed loudly. “You heard me. He knows and… God Ava, you really want me to say it again?” It felt weird talking about sex with my cousin, but she’d known about my crush on Tyler forever, and she’d never judged me for it.
She laughed before sighing. “No, I don’t need to hear that again. Where are you anyway? I thought you were meeting us for lunch?”
“I am,” I answered looking down the road. I’d agreed to meet Ava and Lucy and some of their friends today. I didn’t know why. It was like Ava wanted me to fit into her weird little group, which was fine, but I felt out of place being the youngest. “I’m like, a block or two away. I’ll be there in about five minutes.”
“Would you hurry up? Tony is about to lose it on our server if he doesn’t stop flirting with his boyfriend.” I heard someone object to the statement in the background before Ava started laughing again. The call disconnected, and I shoved my phone into the pocket of my jeans. It was fucking hot today and I really should have worn something lighter, but the tank top I wore helped a little.
My flip-flops slapped against the pavement as I walked the remaining block to the cafe. The little bell jingled above the door as a family made their way outside and I looked in the window to see Ava’s red hair at a booth in the corner, sitting next to a pretty blonde. There was another couple with them, two guys with brown hair who were arguing with Ava.
I made my way inside and over to the booth. Ava jumped up as soon as she saw me and threw her arms around me in a bear hug. “Garrett! You made it. My favorite human. Please come and sit.” She shoved me into the bench seat between her and Lucy and wrapped an arm around my waist.
“Ouch, favorite human? Way to make Lucy jealous,” the guy with the shorter, slightly curly brown hair said.
Lucy wrinkled her nose, playfully shoving me. “This weirdo? Make me jealous? No way. We love him too much.” Suddenly I found myself wrapped in the arms of my cousin’s girlfriend. Ava joined into the hug and I laughed before pushing them both off of me.
The guy rolled his eyes, reaching his hand across the table. “I’m Jacob by the way.” I reached and took his offered hand, shaking it briefly before sitting back in the booth. “This is Anthony, my boyfriend.” He motioned to the guy sitting next to him who’d been mostly watching with amusement.
He waved quickly, giving a little up nod. “Just Tony is fine. Everyone else seems to shorten it, anyway.”
I nodded in acknowledgement. “It’s nice to meet you guys. I take it Ava explained that I’m her cousin?”
Jacob nodded as a smirk crossed his face. “So what’s this juicy story she obviously got over the phone?”
My cheeks heated. I hadn’t realized that Ava had an entire audience when I’d told her about what happened with Tyler this morning. These people were strangers. Except for Lucy. I’d met her several times.
“Now there’s a response,” Tony’s smirk could rival his boyfriend’s as he leaned into his side. Jacob wrapped an arm around his shoulders and pulled him in close while I watched in open envy.
Ava’s giggle broke my thought process before she nudged me. “Are you going to tell them Gar? They might have some words of wisdom for you. Those two might know a thing or two about life long crushes.”
