Mama agreed she’d stay at the garage most days as well, just to give her peace of mind.
All the brothers voted and agreed last week without her knowing. They’ve seen her work, Gary doing the honors of showing them for me. They’ve seen she’s fucking good, especially with bikes thanks to Macky, and they want her in the garage. So do Blade and Fury, basically demanding it.
They weren’t happy she went elsewhere to begin with.
This woman deserves everything she wishes, all her dreams. She deserves the world, and I’m going to make sure she has it.
I watch in awe as she removes the bottle from our son's mouth, maneuvers him over her shoulder, and gently pats his back like it's second nature and I smile at her contented look, which I always want to see.
Would she rather be at home with him? Yes, she would, but she also doesn’t care because all medications and wires are gone. Today, he was weighed, which showed he was four and a half pounds, meaning we can go home and Dr. Clark agrees that I should be the one to give the good news while he sorts out the discharge papers.
Fucker is lucky he saved my son otherwise he’d be six feet under. I heard he was trying to encourage Ivy to take Hudson off the oxygen and get her alone.
He’s lucky to be alive himself.
Hudson is nearly six months old and looks like he’s just been born, though technically, he should have been. He’s strong, and we’re more than ready to begin our life as a family, where I’ll finally make her mine.
Her cut, which she didn’t want to wear until he was discharged, is waiting for her on our bed.
“You just going to stand there and stare?” Ivy asks, not looking up, and I grin.
“Maybe,” I say, “I have quite a good view.”
She looks up at me and smiles wide which just blows me a-fucking-way.
How I thought I could allow her to leave Rose Meadows is beyond me. She’s my world.
I push off the door frame and walk over to them before I lean down and press my lips against Ivy’s. Then I gently pick up our son from her arms and lay him on my shoulder, rubbing his back. He lets out some wind, and Ivy grins.
I nod to his belongings and state, “Pack his stuff, cupcake. It’s time to go home.”
Her smile freezes before slowly going, and she gasps, “He’s being discharged?”
I nod and admit, “He is and his room are waiting for him.”
Her tears fall as she slowly stands and walks into my spare arm. I hold her tight as I kiss her head and mutter, “Let’s go home, Ivy,” and she pulls back a little, her eyes racing between mine.
“When you say home, Jax?” she questions, and I move my hand and cup her cheek.
“Our home, Ivy, yours, mine, and Hudson’s,” I murmur and gently kiss her lips, then rasp, “Go pack, cupcake….”
She wipes her cheeks but nods and does as I asked, gaining the other parents' attention. I scowl at the looks they’re giving her and snap, “Our son has been here for nearly six months, stop looking at her that way!” and they quickly look away, some shocked by my outburst.
Fuckers.
Shaking my head, I quickly grab my phone and bring up Blade’s number.
“Everything alright, brother?” he answers on the second ring and while watching my girl rush around to grab everything, eager to get out of this place and I gently jiggle Hudson, I say lowly, “Hudson is being discharged. I need you to ensure no one comes to my home for a few days to let Ivy and him settle in.”
“Fuck Jax, that is amazing news!” Blade gasps. I smile, and he reassures me, “I’ll make the rounds and let everyone know, as well as Sky and Raya.”
“Thanks, brother. Tell Randy as well. It turns out our Lake is close with the three of them, and I know she was due to see my girl tonight,” I say.
“On it, brother. Go take care of your family,” he says before hanging up and I smile, putting my phone away while I gently rub over my son's back, peace filling me…
“I can’t believe this is happening, I feel like I’m about to wake up and it’s all a dream,” Ivy whispers and I hum as I wrap my arms round her waist from behind and look over her shoulder to see Hudson sound asleep in his new crib, motorcycle sheets peaking from underneath him, his body swaddled in a motorcycle blanket.
We’ve been home for an hour, and after giving him his first bath and his night feed, my amazing woman has managed to get him to settle down easily.
