“I miss him,” I admit in a whisper, “I was being immature, trying to test his love for me, and now I’ve lost him.”
“If you love him so much, then why are you marrying someone else, someone none of the club brothers agree with, I’d like to add?” she questions, and my eyes tear up.
I know they aren’t in agreement. None of them are here, which has pissed Mama off. Though, I can’t be too upset because it is a farse. Dad agreed to pay but refuses to watch me marry Hayden, and again, I don’t blame them.
It’s not like I’ve kept in touch with them since everything happened between Psycho and me and it is not like this is real.
“Because I have to,” I mutter.
Luna shakes her head, her eyes going to my stomach again and I instantly feel bad.
She may never be able to have kids because of her ordeal. She was abused, yet I won’t open my mouth and explain Mama’s situation especially when she’s being selfish.
Over the past four months, Blade has brought Luna to Gary’s Motors so we can get to know each other. He wanted her to know the woman he sees as a sister, and I welcomed her with open arms, but right now, I feel like I’m letting her down.
I can’t tell her about Mama without breaking her trust because, despite her basically selling me and walking around like she is living her best life, she’s still my mother, and I have some underlying need to keep her happy because I’ve grown up watching the men treat their women like shit and I feel like they need someone in their corner.
Pathetic right?
“I’ve come to love you, Ivy,” Luna says, and I look at her and furrow my brows seeing the determination in her eyes as the door to the room closes and she says, “Which is why I’ve had a little help on this.”
“Wait, what are you?” I begin but my words cut off when a cloth stinking of Chloroform is placed over my mouth and nose and I struggle, trying to break free until I hear, “Don’t fight me, cupcake,” and I freeze in shock before I relax because damn, he made it…
Psycho.
Everything around me fades, Luna becoming blurry just as the thought hits me, before darkness takes hold.
Wait, did his breath smell of…
Chapter 11
Psycho – Present day
“You sure about this?” Venom triple checks after taking another puff on his cigarette and I roll my eyes so hard, I’m surprised they don’t get stuck behind my fucking head.
I swear if he asks me again, I’m going to throttle him.
The fucker has been asking me the same question for four fucking months like I’m going to suddenly change my mind from fighting for my girl.
She told me to fight, so I’m fighting like I should have done the day she turned eighteen.
Fury sees my reaction and chuckles, reading my mind, then replies, “You keep asking him that he’s going to punch you.”
Venom scoffs, “I’d like to see him try, he couldn’t even get a punch in months ago,” and I raise a brow his way because we both know I never fought back, believing I deserved it for even touching Ivy while Fury reminds him, “You surprised him and you know if he gets to a certain point, he will take you. As for your sister, she unblocked him brother. She doesn’t want this, but something is compelling her to do it which is probably why she hasn’t called him yet, and we all know she is not the type of person to marry someone just to piss our brother here off knowing he’ll just kill Hayden. Now, stop asking him if he’s sure, he’s spent months planning this down to the fucking wire. Blade has the church surrounded with the prospects and Viper and Blade are on the other side of the church so we can get in and out without being seen and Clara will believe she’s done a runner while Luna is going to ensure Clara leaves the room that they are in for everything to go through okay.”
It's a good fucking plan.
As soon as I hung up with Blade, I called a meeting with the officers only, no old timers, and the table all agreed to help me as long as Glock doesn’t find out. Venom here was my biggest cheerleader but the fucker is worried about upsetting his dad, not keeping him in the loop but Glock wants to win his old lady back. For some reason, even though he’s not here today to walk Ivy down the aisle, no one is happy with who she has decided to marry, he’ll put a stop to us, to me, if it means Clara will take him back.
Though I’m beginning to believe the woman only wanted his bank account, especially with her being okay with this wedding, to whom she’s allowing her daughter to marry.
Hayden fucking Gillies, the leader to the pathetic Hyena Group.
It’s basically a group of eight that think they are the big men of Santa Monica but know to stay out of our way. Their main business is money lending but add a couple hundred thousand on top to fuck people that are desperate and if you can’t pay back within a year, the fuckers kill everyone you care about most before going for you.
So far, they haven’t touched the community that are in our protection, knowing we won’t let that shit slide, but it begs to differ – how in the fuck did he meet my girl?
Ivy isn’t one to venture past our boundaries, so the only other place she could have met him was at Gary’s Motors. But again, why would the fuckers go there?
