“Yes ma’am.”

Once she’s gone, I start to sit up, untangling myself from the cuddle puddle we established when I came in. She’s so damn warm it’s almost scalding. I roll away from her and pick my phone up off the little table next to the bed. Turning the screen on, I see a barrage of texts from several people. Babel, letting me know that things were taken care of and I won’t need to stay at the B&B anymore. Matias left a few too asking me if I was safe and if there was anything I needed from him. Then there’s the sixty calls and five thousand text messages from Kace.

“Hi, yes. Sorry, give me a moment, I was trying to respond to messages and got side tracked.”

“No worry, Miss. I’ll leave her tray here.”

“Thank you.”

“No problem, is there anything I can get you? Water, juice, ice cream?”

“I appreciate that but no, I’m okay.”

“Very well. Give us a call if you need us.”

“You got it, Ghostbuster’s.”

“New version or old?”
