NINETEEN

LANA

My attention doesn’t shift from the barrel of the gun as the door to the club flies open. I don’t even need to bother looking to see who it is. I knew the moment the door cracked open an inch that he had followed me.

The clueless fuck has no idea what he’s getting himself into, but I am grateful for the assist. I throw back my head, hitting the guy behind me in the nose and making him lose grip on my arms. The one holding a gun to my head had looked towards the door to see what was happening. He looks back to me quickly, but he’s not quick enough.

I close my hand around his weapon and pull it towards me. He keeps a tight grip on it, so he crashes into me and I use the momentum we have to flip us around before we hit the ground. We land with a thud, me on top of him, and I scramble to secure his arms to the side of his body with my knees, pointing the gun towards him.

I hear a scuffle behind me, and I chance a look to my right, only to find the guy who was holding me in placefighting Cole. And by the looks of things, Cole might just be getting the better of him.

I return my attention to the guy on the ground, since he was the one who was barking the orders to the other.

“Online order?” I ask as the cold metal touches his forehead. He grunts beneath me but remains otherwise tight lipped.

I tsk and press down harder on the gun.

“Online. Order?” I grit through clenched teeth.

“No,” he spits, his eyes flashing with danger as he glares up at me.

“Direct?”

He nods reluctantly, and I huff out a breath before pulling my knife from my boot.

“Do you know who placed the order?”

He runs his tongue across his lower lip before answer, “Someone in the same business as me, they just couldn’t be here themselves.”

I don’t bother asking any more questions before sliding the blade across his throat and watching as the blood streams from the wound. He gargles and chokes, yet the fire still remains in his eyes.

Like most men and women in this life, he’s angry until the bitter end.

I turn my attention to the two men still battling it out. Neither have noticed what just happened between me and mystery guy number one, but I know I need to hurry this up before some random drunk student stumbles out from the club. I wipe my bloody knife on his shirt before approaching them both.

Cole has the guy against the wall, smashing his head against the brick, but just as I reach them, the guy manages tomaneuver them both so Cole is backed up, and my pretty boy’s eyes widen as the guy punches him in the gut. Clearly, he hadn’t expected him to make a move like that.

He’s going to get himself killed if he keeps sniffing around where he doesn’t belong.

Before either of them can proceed, I wrap my arm around the guy’s neck and slice. I watch as he drops the floor, and it’s only now that I realize the gravity of what just happened. Now that there’s nothing but a body on the floor separating me and the man in front of me.

TWENTY

COLE

Iwatch in shock as the guy I was fighting drops to the floor, and it takes me a couple of moments to realize what just happened. One glance to the side shows me she did the same thing to the other guy.

Seriously, who the fuck is this girl?

Dead.

They’re both dead.

She just killed them and hasn’t even batted an eye.

Does she plan on killing me next?

I look between the knife in her hand and her face. There’s a wild look in her eyes that tells me it wouldn’t be an impossibility. In this lighting, her eyes are almost silver to match the blade she’s holding, and it makes her look even more dangerous.
