“No, it’s because there’s this thing called reserved seating now. There’s no reason to get here before the opening credits start rolling.”

I shot my head back. “What? When in the hell are you supposed to see the previews? That’s the best part.”

“Girl, please. There’s way too much advanced technology for you to be worried about getting to the movies to see previews. Any trailer worth watching is going to pop up on social media sooner rather than later.”

“Whatever. It’s not the same.”

“Yeah, okay.”

Rolling my eyes, I took another peek at my phone as a text came through from Don.

“What’s up beautiful? Did the movie start yet?” –Don

“No. We’ve still got a few minutes.” –Nova

“Lol! Trying to catch those previews?” –Don

I couldn’t help but laugh. Just like Kendra, his ass gave me a hard time about dragging him to the movies so early.

“Don’t judge me. Judge your mama.” –Nova

“Oh…I’m judging you hard.” –Don

“Keep that same energy when I make it back to your place.” –Nova

“Always. You know how I’m coming.” –Don

I tucked my bottom lip between my teeth, fully aware of exactly how he was coming. The last two months had been nothing short of amazing. But these last two weeks had been too good for me to even put into words. Being able to see him whenever I wanted made my day.

“What you over there being all giggly about?” Kendra questioned while leaning over to get a peek at my phone.

“None of your business.”

“Oh…it’s like that?”

Laughing, I closed my text messages and dropped my phone into my purse. “Nah, I’m just teasing. It was Don.”

“Of course, it was. That man has a gift when it comes to keeping a smile on your face.”

“You think so.”

“Most definitely.” She nodded. “And let me be the first to say, I’m so happy for you.”

Tilting my head to the side, I gave her a huge smile. “Aw, thanks, cousin.”

“Sure thing. Any man that can make you this happy is a winner in my book. But, I always thought Don was a winner. You two give me all of the black love vibes.”

“Really?”

“Yes, and I love it,” she replied. “And since we’re on the subject, do you think you guys are going to have a small wedding or a big wedding?”

“First of all, we weren’t on the subject.” I laughed. “Second, I don’t want to have another wedding. I would much rather go to the justice of the peace and have a bomb ass honeymoon.”

“Oh yeah? Where do you want to go?”

“Hmm…I’m thinking Vegas or a cruise. As long as I get to be with the love of my life, I don’t care about all of that other stuff.”

“I hear you,” she said. “I’m just ready for the two of you to live your happily ever after.”
