Laughing, I lifted her from the ground and wrapped her legs around my waist. “Hell yeah!”

Before I knew it, we were in my building and on the elevator. It took everything in me not to fuck her right there, but I wasn’t interested in having another reason to stop.

As soon as we were in my apartment, it was on. Clothes flew from one side of the room to the other. I dropped her on my bed and slid on a fresh condom. Her legs wasted no time spreading wide for me, and I gladly entered.

I couldn’t stop my mouth from taking on the areas that it was deprived of exploring earlier. Her nipples grew harder beneath my tongue, begging me to swallow them whole. The heels of her feet pressed deeper into my ass cheeks with every stroke, and I knew it was only a matter of time before we both exploded.

I hung on though, giving her body what she craved and what I definitely desired.

When our time was up, I came so hard that I thought my heart stopped.

“Are you still breathing?” I heard Alauni whisper in my ear.

To be honest, I didn't know.

All I saw was black before the sound of her voice came to me.

“Shit, I think so,” I whispered.

She laughed and lowered my head to her chest.

I didn’t want to overwhelm her with my body weight, so I slid to the other side of her and pulled her closer to me.

She buried her head beneath my arm. “I don’t know why I ever tried to play this little game.”

“What game is that?”

“Thinking that I could run away from you.”

“Oh, yeah. I don’t know why you tried to do that shit either.”

Slapping my chest, she said, “Don’t be an ass. I’m trying to come clean here.”

“My bad. Carry on.”

She giggled. “Anyway, I knew what I was going to say to you. I was just scared as hell to say it. You already know how I feel about you. I want you bad, Law. Like, really bad. But I don’t want to be hurt. I don’t want you to turn out to be the same man that—”

“I’m not. Trust me. I’m a different breed, baby. Let me show you. Shit, I’ve already shown you. You just have to believe what you’re seeing.”

She lowered her gaze and took a deep breath. “I know.”

“Okay, well, just give us a chance. Forget about all of the bullshit that you’ve been through in the past. I got you.”

“I wish forgetting was as easy as it sounds.”

“It can be if you allow your heart to see the good that's right in front of you. If you're experiencing the best, you don't have time to even think about the worst. I'm telling you now, I'm the best.”

Smiling, she said, “You are so damn confident.”

“I have to be. You wouldn’t trust me otherwise.”

“You’re right,” she said, climbing on top of me. “Okay, Law, I’m going to take your word for it. You say that you’re the best, then I expect to see that.”

“No doubt. Like I said before, I got you.”

“Mmhmm, we’ll see.”

Pulling her head forward, I kissed her until my heart was content, making it clear that I could show her better than I could tell her.
