“I am. I’m going to book my flights now. I promise. I’ll message you when I’m done.”

“Wait,” I call out before he hangs up. “Thank you. You’ve made my day.”

“Anytime, Hayls. That’s what friends are for.”

I’m on edge for the next few days, counting down the seconds until Reed arrives. I knew I missed him, but now that he’s coming, I’m both nervous and excited about it.

Reed’s flight lands at the same time I finish filming for the day, so the second we’re done, I rush back to my hotel to shower and change, quickly tidying up.

I’ve just finished drying my hair when he texts.

Reed: I’m here

My heart jolts as my entire body tingles, and there’s no denying my feelings anymore. Only I’m still not sure what to do about it. All I know is that I’m desperate to see him and I can’t wait any longer.

Racing out the door, I lock it behind me and jump in the lift—elevator, bouncing on my toes when it stops on multiple floors, slowing my journey.

I smile at my travel companions, faking a patience I don’t have, but the second the doors open, I push through the crowd congregating in the busy lobby, calling out his name when I see him in the distance, his back to me.

Reed turns and his smile makes my world slow.

Throwing caution to the wind, I run forward and launch myself into his arms, crashing my lips to his, smothering him in a bruising kiss.

And despite catching him off guard, he meets my fervour, his lips parting to welcome my tongue, his arms curling around me,almostconvincing me it’s real.

We stay like that for God knows how long until someone wolf whistles and he smiles against my lips.

“Wow. You reallydidmiss me.” He chuckles when we finally part, his eyes locked on mine as he continues to hold me in his arms.

“I really did.” I laugh, sensing eyes on us from around the room and leaning in to whisper, “The question is, how much didyou miss me? We’ve got an audience. Is it safe for me to move?” I glance between us and Reed chuckles, rolling his eyes.

“I’m good. There was no inappropriate rubbing this time.”

“Would you like me to change that?”

Squeezing his eyes shut, he groans and I light up inside. We may not have had any kind of physical relationship in months, but I still love to tease him.

“Maybe it’s best we go to your room,” he jokes, teasing me right back.

“I like the way you're thinking.” I wink, grabbing his hand to lead the way, a thought hitting me when we reach the elevator. “Oh and by the way, I have plans for us tonight.”

Reed’s eyes widen before he smirks, his mind going exactly where I thought it would, not that I think he’d actually make a move. “Are you going to fill me in?” he asks, his gaze full of questions.

“Dancing, Reed. We’re in Texas. We’re going dancing.”

CHAPTER FORTY-SIX

Reed

Hayley closes the door to her suite and my chest tightens with the soft click. She smiles as she turns, and when our eyes lock…I’m a goner.

I mean, I’ve kind of known that for a while now, but with the way my heart’s flipping out, it’s so much worse than I thought.

I’m in love with her.

And it turns out, I’ve never been in love before.

“Now that we’re alone, I’m so glad you’re here.” She squeals as she takes off in another run, launching herself at me for a second time. “God, you smell good.”
