“What was that?”
“I’m sorry David. I should have never ran from you. Please just leave them alone and I’ll come with you and be the best wife you have had.”
“Mhm, such a good girl. It’s about time you came to your senses.”
Once again, she clamped her mouth shut at the vomit that wanted to spew out. Though at this point it was more stomach acid than anything.
Being called a good girl by David was nothing like when Miles murmured to her how she was being such a good girl for him.
Olivia watched as David moved towards her and pulled a key out of his pocket. She had figured out early on that no amount of pulling at the wall or twisting and yanking at the wrist cuff was going to set her free.
The only thing it had done was cause her to bleed. Every once in a while if she moved wrong she would reopen a woundand it would bleed and throb. Eventually, she would pass out and it would be a brief relief from the pain.
David unlocked the cuff and pulled her to standing. Her world spun and she felt as weak as a newborn babe.
Stumbling forward, she crashed into David’s chest. Olivia felt his hands slide up her body and she shivered at the contact.
Turning, they made their way towards the door when she heard the slightest sound outside. It didn’t sound like an animal like the previous ones did.
Guessing that David wasn’t paying too much attention since he didn’t seem to be concerned with the noise, she clamped her mouth shut.
Maybe help was here after all. Olivia had spent the past little while straining to hear all sorts of noises in the night as she waited for the animals to come and get her. So she had no doubt that she heard something or someone that wasn’t an animal.
Just as they reached the door and opened it, she felt herself being yanked back and the door being slammed again.
“Shit,” she heard David mumble under his breath. “What did you do?” he roared.
“I didn’t do anything. How could I when you had me chained to the wall like an animal.”
Just as she finished her sentence, the door was flung open. She tried to make a run for it and she felt a sharp prick against her stomach. Olivia hadn’t even noticed that David had pulled out a knife.
“David, it’s over. There’s no way for you to escape.”
Olivia didn’t recognize that voice, but she didn’t care. Help had come and all she needed to do was hold on long enough for them to get to her.
“No! It’s not over! You don’t get to have her.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, David. She isn’t yours.”
Gasping, Olivia knows that voice!
“DADDY!” She yelled out as loud as she could, not caring who heard her call him that.
“Daddy’s here, Little Bunny. He needs you to hold on for him just a little bit longer, okay? Then he’s going to take you back home where you belong, with him.”
“I’m so sorry, Daddy.”
“I know you are, babygirl. Just hold on a few more minutes, okay?”
“Okay. I love you, Daddy.”
“Oh Olivia, Daddy loves you, too.”
The next few moments happened in what felt like slow motion. She was starting to become weaker the longer she stood there.
Days without food and water would cause that. There was noise all around her, but she couldn’t make out any of the words.
What she wasn’t prepared for was the stabbing white hot pain she felt in her side before she was tossed to the ground.
