She must not have done so well with it, since she watched him turn around and start serenading her. Giggling, she decided to join Miles in the antics.
Grabbing the hand that Miles held out to her, the world spun as he twirled her around and dipped her back. Coming back up she felt Miles press a kiss against her lips before twirling her around again.
Olivia couldn’t remember the last time that she danced freely in the kitchen. No doubt that it was before David came into the picture. It had been forever since she felt carefree and at peace.
Sliding on to the barstool, she continued to watch Miles at work in the kitchen. He seemed to know his way around and was right at home preparing the meal.
The music faded as a plate slipped in front of her. She smiled at the bunny shaped plate filled with pancakes, bacon, and eggs.
Olivia felt a kiss pressed on the top of her head before Miles settled in beside her with his own plate piled high.
Once again sitting in comfortable silence, that she didn’t feel the need to fill, Olivia filled her belly with the fantastic breakfast he’d made for her.
Clearing her plate, she sat back and sipped on the orange juice that was in front of her before finally deciding to ask what the plan was for the day.
“So what exactly are we supposed to do for the day?”
“Well, I figured since I told you that I would fix your car problem, I thought that we could go look at some cars today.”
Olivia has no clue how she was going to be able to purchase a car. She had the money from her last one being scrapped and she was sure that there were some used car lots somewhere around here that they could go hit up.
“Okay, that’s fine. I don’t know where there are any used lots, but we can do that no problem.”
“Don’t worry about that part, Little Bunny. I’ve got it handled.”
Olivia trusted Miles, as crazy as it made her feel. She barely knows the guy, but here she was staying in his house and allowing him to take her car shopping. It felt like a fever dream, one she never wanted to wake up from.
“I’ll clean up the kitchen while you go get dressed and we can leave out of here in about forty-five minutes.” Miles said sliding from the barstool he was occupying.
“Oh, I can handle it. You cooked, afterall.”
“Daddy’s got it, babygirl. You just go get ready.”
Smiling at the name he called himself, Olivia went to do as she was told.
Forty-five minutes later,Olivia found herself sitting shotgun while Miles drove them to the car lot that she hoped would have a new to her vehicle that would suit her needs.
She was trying to have a positive attitude about this since he was trying to fix the wrong he had done. Olivia was not a fan of shopping, though. Especially for something that was going to cost her a bunch of money.
Playing on her phone and singing to the radio, Olivia didn’t notice where Miles had driven them until it was too late.
“Uh, what are we doing here?”
“Looking at cars, silly. What else would we be doing here?”
“No, here as in this dealership. I can’t afford any of the cars here. We will need to go somewhere else.”
Miles ignored her comment and she watched him get out of the truck and make his way around. She wasn’t getting out of this truck.
“Come on, Little one. Let's go find you a new car.”
“Miles, I already told you I can’t afford anything here. Let’s just go.”
“You might not be able to afford it, but I can, Little Bunny. I made this mess, so I’ll fix it. Plus, I would feel much more comfortable knowing that you are in a car that is safe.”
“You can’t buy me a car. You barely know me.”
“I can and I will. You’re mine, Olivia, and I take care of what is mine.”
