He loved the blush that crept across her face. Miles proceeded to give her a tour around the house pointing out all the finer details that he took the time to do when refurbishing it to its former glory.

He loved listening to all the sounds she made as she took in every detail. Dropping her bag in the spare room beside his, Miles led her back towards the couch and settled in, pulling her onto his lap.

“Now, did you think about the question I asked you before we left the nursing home?”

Calming the twiddling of her thumbs, Miles waited to see how she would respond. He would love to see her push the boundaries and test his word.

“You told me to stay inside the building until you texted saying that you arrived. I finished early though and didn’t see a reason that I couldn’t go out and get some air while I waited.”

“Mhm, is that what you were told to do though?”

“No, Sir, it wasn’t. I should have stayed inside like you told me to.”

“What if something had happened to you? There isn’t much security back there and no one would have heard you if you screamed.”

He watched her shoulder shrug. Miles needed her to understand that her safety was his top priority. He doesn’t give directions like that just because he wants to control her moves.

“I didn’t think about that part. I’m sorry.”

“I know you are baby, but what did I tell you would happen if you didn’t listen to what I said?”

“If I tested the limit, I would find out how serious you are on a health and safety issue.”

Miles knew that he needed to tread carefully here. They didn’t have a dynamic in place even though he knew without a doubt that she was his.

He also knew that if he didn’t keep his word, she would never trust him to follow through with the things that he said. That would also be a very dangerous thing if they had any hope at a healthy dynamic.

“We still need to have a long conversation about everything, but for now I am asking for your consent to give you the punishment that you earned.”

He watched her eyes widen and continued to explain what he had in mind, before she decided to run from him.

Miles knew that he was asking a lot of her especially without having the conversation they really needed to have before this.

“Before you start to panic and decide to act upon the thoughts I know are running through your head, let me explain what punishment I think would be good for you.”

She nodded her head and he took that as a sign that she was still willing to listen.

“How long were you standing outside before I pulled into the parking lot tonight?”

“Ummmm…I think it was like seven minutes. I really hadn’t been out there long.”

“Okay, so I am thinking a seven minute timeout is in order. One minute for every minute you spent outside alone instead of being inside where it was safe. Do you think that is fair, Little Bunny?”

Once again, he watched her nod her head. That wasn’t going to work for him.

“Words, babygirl. I need you to talk to me.”

“Yes, Sir. I think that is fair.”

“Okay, so are you consenting to the timeout that you have earned? If this is something that you aren’t comfortable with at all, I won’t push, but I think we both know that this might be something you need and dare I say wanted.”

“Yes, Miles. I’m consenting to the timeout.”

Smiling at the braveness that she showed, he pressed a quick kiss to her lips before sliding her off his lap to stand in front of him.

“Okay, Little one. I want you to go stand in the corner over there and press your nose against the wall. Before you go though, I want you to know that if at any point you want this to stop you can say red. You have the power and control here and I don’t want you to forget that.”

“Red. Okay, I can remember that.”
