Sasha’s chuckle vibrated against my skin. “Last night, I was a baby. Now, I’m a toddler.” When he pulled back, those straightwhite teeth taunted me. “Maybe by tomorrow night, I’ll have made it through puberty and into adulthood.”
Even though the eye roll was tempting, I held it back, a corner of my lips twitching. He was ridiculous, but I found that it was growing on me.
Holding my head still, he slipped his tongue into my mouth, groaning when I battled back with my own.
“Fuck,” he breathed, his lips ghosting over mine as he spoke. “I really have to go.”
“Go to work. You can swing by later for your nap.” I couldn’t help but snicker at the idea.
“Laugh all you want, baby. I love the way it sounds.”
That sobered me up quickly. There hadn’t been much to be happy about lately—or ever—in my life, so it was shocking that he brought it out in me so easily. Maybe having him around might actually be good for me.
Stealing one more kiss, Sasha stood, and I marveled at his size. I reclined on my pillow just to be able to meet his eye when he rose to his full height.
“I put the bath bombs in the bathroom. Take a good long soak this morning. Breakfast and a pharmacy delivery should be here within half an hour, and I’ll see you later.”
I caught his wrist before he turned to walk away. He stared down at me with a question in his eyes.
“Pharmacy delivery?”
Sasha’s eyes seemed to stare straight into my soul. “Take the pill or don’t. I’m fine either way.”
Bolting upright, I screeched, “Excuse me?”
I winced at how my voice rose in pitch. But who could blame me? His suggestion that Inottake the morning-after pill might be the most insane thing to ever come out of his mouth—and there was some stiff competition.
Sighing, he sat on the edge of the mattress, turning my hand over in his and gripping it. “I know right now this is only about sex for you, and that’s fine.” Before I could argue that I wasn’t that shallow, he continued, “But I already know what I want from you, and I won’t stop until I get it.”
Mouth going dry, I croaked out, “A baby?”
Shaking his head, he replied, “No. Forever.” A corner of his lips twitched, unable to hold back his signature smile. “Though I wouldn’t say no to the baby, either.”
“You’re crazy.”
Pressing his forehead to mine, he whispered, “Crazy about you.”
There was one last thing I needed to know before he left. “Do you—”
When my words cut off abruptly, he pulled back to survey my face. “Do I what? I told you; you can ask me anything.”
Strengthening my resolve, I asked, “Do you do this a lot?”
“What are you asking, Gemma?”
Was he really going to make me say it? Ugh, fine.
“Are there a bunch of little Sashas running around out there?” His bark of laughter caught me off guard, and I withdrew, hugging my knees to my chest, muttering, “Not sure what’s so fucking funny about it.”
Gripping my knee and squeezing, still a twinkle in his blue eyes, he schooled his face, trying and failing to appear serious. “No, Kitten. What happened last night? That’s the first time I’ve ever done that with any woman.”
“Sex?” I teased, not sure I could handle a deeper answer. I was already in way over my head with this guy.
“Come on, Gemma, give me a little credit.” He winked.
“Fine. Then, what?”
“I’ve never skipped out on using protection, no matter what assurances a girl made about having it covered. But do you know why I didn’t think twice with you?”
