Nix pulled the sunscreen out of his bag.“And what’s that?”

“Making me care so it’s harder to turn you in.”

Nix flicked the cap off.“My plan was much simpler: fuck you so well you can’t imagine anyone ever matching me.Working?”

“I’ll tell you after you catch me.If you catch me.”

Nix lifted his gaze.Lance leaned over and kissed him.He wasn’t going to be able to do it.He didn’t know what he was going to do, but he still had a week to figure it out.

“Go.This place closes in half an hour.”

Lance got out of the car, bought two tickets, and told them his friend was coming. They warned him they were closing soon, too.Fortunately, it wasn’t busy. Most people were packing up and leaving or sitting in the grassed area having afternoon tea.

He made his way into the wooden maze, glancing at his watch and trying to figure out how close Nix was.Would he be walking in and collecting his ticket already?Lance moved faster, around corners and past other people who were running and laughing and trying to find a way out.Could he get so lost the outside world no longer mattered? He hit a dead end and had to backtrack. He didn’t know what he was looking for.A nook where they wouldn’t be disturbed?

Someone knocked on the wall next to him, and Lance jumped.

“I can hear your heartbeat, Lance.”Nix’s voice was soft, and there was no menace in it, but knowing Nix was stalking him…had flipped the game they’d been playing for the last six months.Though honestly, he might have tried a bit harder to catch him if he’d known Nix was going to end up in his bed.

“You haven’t found me yet, and it’s been four minutes.”

Nix laughed.

Lance walked away.He needed to find a good spot.People moved through the maze, calling to each other. They couldn’t actually do that here.He zig-zagged and turned, and Nix was right in front of him, almost within touching distance.Nix grinned from beneath his surf cap, no fangs visible, but Lance knew they’d be down.

He took a step back, knowing that even if he ran, the ending was inevitable.

Nix mirrored his step but didn’t take another. He was waiting.

Instead of running, Lance took three steps forward and pressed Nix to the wooden wall of the maze.He smelled of sunscreen, and the sleeves of his shirt were rolled down to protect his arms.He kissed Nix hard, cutting his lip in the process.

Nix grabbed his hand and pulled him around several turns. Then the wood was against his back, and Nix was undoing Lance’s jeans.Nix spun his cap as he dropped to his knees.

“Time?”

Lance glanced at his watch.“Six minutes and fifteen seconds. You weren’t really trying.”

“Well, I wasn’t going to leap over the walls—that might have made people suspicious.”He freed Lance’s cock from his briefs and licked the head.“Though it was tempting.”

There were still people in the maze.Lance swallowed. They were in a dead end, but it was still too public.Nix’s tongue swirled around the head before taking him into his mouth.Lance wanted to close his eyes and give into Nix’s tongue but couldn’t.“We’re going to get caught.”

Nix lifted an eyebrow, his lips stretched around Lance’s dick. That was a memory to keep for later.

Nix drew back.“No, we aren’t.”His hand worked over the shaft.“For some reason, no one wants to come down here. Also, do you have any idea how hard it is to keep my fangs up and keep people awayandsuck your cock?Put your hands behind your back and shut up…unless you actually want me to stop because you’re squicked out being in public.”

Nix was keeping everyone away; he was that good at ensorcelling. That wasn’t in the file either.

He wanted Nix to keep looking up at him like that with the golden gleam in his eyes, like he was everything Nix wanted.Lance put his hands in the small of his back. The wood was rough on his palms, and Nix’s mouth was hot on his dick as he sucked him deep and worked him over well.He wasn’t going to last the six minutes, not when Nix was using his tongue on the underside and over the slit like that.

The maze was still too noisy, and even though he knew no one was going to accidentally stumble in on them, it still felt like a risk.Nix glanced up, his lips barely over the head.Lance curled his fingers, and bit back on the groan. He thrust into Nix’s mouth as he came.Nix swallowed, then pulled free.He yanked Lance’s jeans down a little further and bit his thigh over the vein.Lance shuddered again from the pleasure of the bite, and Nix made a little noise of delight before licking the bite and straightening Lance’s clothes.

Nix stood and swooped in for a kiss, pressing close.“That was fun.”

Lance put his hands around Nix’s waist.Nix didn’t resist or pull away, only melted closer.Nix had a type.It didn’t matter if they were human or vampire or something in between—Nix liked men he could destroy.Unfortunately for him, there was nothing Nix could do to save him.Lance was damned and had been from the moment he’d left his phone number.

“It was.”But it couldn’t last, and he couldn’t push that thought away.He couldn’t push Nix away either.“Come home, and I’ll return the favor.”

“I need to stop by a farm tonight.”
