“Angel?”

I slowly lifted my gaze to his, and I felt like I was about to step off a cliff with no assurance of a soft landing.

“I want… you, Flynn. Whatever you are offering, I want it. If it’s one night, the next few days or something else, I want it. As long as it’s you and me, I want it,” I answered, stepping off the cliff.

The pupils of his eyes nearly eclipsed the green, and I almost melted on the spot.

“Angel?”

“I need you to kiss me, Flynn,” I urged on a breathy whisper, sliding my fingers up into his hair.

He didn’t make me wait, and as his mouth lowered to mine, I pressed up on my toes and for the first time, let myself embrace the fall.

Chapter Ten

Flynn

The sounds of catcalls and whistles sounded around us, but I didn’t stop kissing Ara.

I was hungry for her, almost desperate, and she was standing in my arms telling me she wanted me for however long this thing lasted. The taste of her lips was a new drug I was happy to be hooked on, and I was addicted to the way her body melted into mine whenever we were close like this.

But I couldn’t have her right now.

Pulling away with a sigh, I glanced down at her swollen lips and heavy-lidded eyes and couldn’t help the satisfied grin on my face. Fuck me, I liked that.

“Love that look on your face, Angel,” I murmured, brushing her lower lip with my thumb.

“You put it there,” she replied, her voice low and soft. Her smile was bright and the pink on her cheeks made me want to ravage her. Fucking hell, there was something about that blush that drove me damn near wild.

“Alright, let’s see some of the rest of you up on the dance floor,” Liam called out before he jumped right into another song.

Chiara grinned up at me, and I spun her out and around in a circle before pulling her in close again. Chairs scraped, Trevor and Carol join us on the dance floor, followed by Ellis and Sofia. Ellis’s face was set in hard lines, his eyes shooting daggers my way, but I spun Ara and I around so I wouldn’t have to look at him. If he took offense to me dancing with the woman in myarms, who—for however long I managed to make it last—was all mine, then that was his fucking problem.

The music continued to play, and we danced for a few songs before food was brought out. I was glad we’d come here, because the food was awesome, and I was starving. We’d skipped breakfast this morning, and after swimming with the dolphins, we’d already expended a good amount of energy.

Lunch came and went, and our event coordinator came back with her clipboard and a bright smile.

“Alright, folks. We have our next activity. I want all the men to get up and swap tables with another man,” she called. We turned to face her, and she handed her assistant—a smaller woman with glasses and long braided hair—a stack of paper and pens. She began handing them out to each group and I noticed the forms were empty.

I looked at Ara who smiled softly at me. I leaned down to brush a kiss over her lips quickly, loving the way she chased my lips as I pulled away, and I moved to sit by Kate.

Kate looked at me with a giant grin and I rolled my eyes. “What?”

She shrugged. “Nothing. I just love sayingI told you so, and when you guys are all shacked up and getting married, I’m going to say it at least three times in the wedding toast.”

I chuckled and shook my head. I didn’t have it in me to burst her bubble right now, and I also didn’t want to discuss the legitimacy of our relationship when we were surrounded by the people we were trying to fool.

I glanced back at Ara and felt my body lock up at the sight of Ellis sitting at her table. Her smile was tight when she replied to whatever he said, and I watched as she subtly slid her chair back to her side, putting space between them.

“Easy there, big guy. It’s his wedding week. You don’t have anything to worry about,” Kate said softly, catching on. Ara’s eyes slid past Ellis to me, and her smile melted into a genuineone. I winked and she ducked her head. Elli’s head snapped around to me, his expression morphing into one of anger.

Fucking hell, what was his problem?

Remembering my promise to Ara, I gave her another smile before turning back to Kate and the woman outlining the rules of the game. She was going to ask a question about our romantic partner, and we had to give the answer we thought was right.

Smiling, I clicked my pen and leaned back. Judging from the questionnaire we’d filled out earlier in the day, I was pretty confident I could answer most, if not all, correct when it came to Ara.
