“You’re here early, boss,” Jason, my club manager, says as I step into Frenzy.

“I saw you were doing a few interviews, figured I’d go sit in that corner and see if anyone stands out,” I murmur.

It’s not the first time I’ve done this, and Jason sent out an email with the names of applicants for me to run through my system. He knows I like to put each person through a full background check, and we’ve been known to cancel on people who show up as having shit records.

If it’s bad enough, one of us will pay them a visit. The world doesn’t need those who hurt children or are rapists. We like to call it community service.

“No problem, boss,” Jason says with a nod. “Grab whatever you need before deciding to be invisible.”

Smiling, I head to the bar for a bottle of water before retreating to a dark corner of the club. My staff is used to the way I work, and Jason isn’t bothered by my interest in these interviews. He knows it could be for a multitude of reasons. I protect what’s important to me, and this club is one of those things.

Today, though, I want to see the pink-haired beta that has my pack in a chokehold. River is still talking about the fun he had in the closet with him, the way the beta’s pupils blew out with fear and arousal. Having him closer to us will allow me to figure out why he has this sort of hold over us. He’s become my obsession, and there’s more to it than the added complication that I still feel that he’s hiding something.

Why else would he be so afraid of River anyway? His fear is delicious, but there has to be a reason that he’s avoiding us. Doesn’t he know the more he resists us, the more suspicious we are of him? Pulling me deeper into my obsession.

It’ll be quite the disappointment for him when he realizes his new bosses are the pack he fears.

I’m waiting for information from a contact I have on the dark web. No names have been exchanged, but money is more than enough to get what I need. I’ve used this person before, they always deliver. I’m simply being impatient as fuck.

The door opens, catching my attention as I lean back in my chair just in time to watch Camden tentatively walk inside. His eyes flick around the room, taking in his surroundings. Always aware that one is. Like a frightened little mouse.

Camden is wearing a pair of nice pants and a black long sleeved t-shirt, perfect for an interview at a club. I’m almost giddy inside as I watch him sit down with Jason and answer questions.

He’s nervous but professional as he speaks with the bar manager, the perfect fit for this position. We’re so close to constantly being in his orbit. With Camden working here, he won’t be able to get away from us as easily. It’s perfect because it will allow us to play more with him.

I can’t fucking wait.

As Camden begins to fill out the new hire paperwork, a big smile on his devastatingly handsome face, I receive a text from my contact. Keeping my eyes on the beta for another moment, I swipe open my phone and glance down at the screen.

Unknown:

Well, it ain’t good. Here’s your rabbit hole of information. Send the wire transfer when you’re done.

Fuck. This is it. We’re about to find out if we had a right to be suspicious of the little beta, or if it was all in our heads.

Swallowing hard, I click on the link with the drive of information. My eyes widen, heart beating faster as I find a photo of Camden next to Leroy, the president of the Poison Fangs MC.

Why the fuck would he be anywhere near that man?

The leader’s arm is thrown over Camden’s shoulders, looking a little too familiar for my liking.

A sense of urgency has all the alarms inside my head going off as I quickly read the rest of the report to see that the beta is his son. His fucking son!

Heart starting to race in anger, I continue reading, periodically glancing up to look at Camden who is still innocently filling out paperwork instead of signing himself up for torture and depravity.

Oh, little one, you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into.Leroy Morrow's a fucking monster and is single-handedly responsible for countless shit that’s scarred my pack and our fathers.

Camden had to have changed his name when he enrolled at Crown Well Academy, because Marrow isn’t his last name on his file in the school system.

He had to have known we also attend this school.

There is a pair of brass balls on this beta. I can’t fucking believe that he’d go to all of this trouble. Is he a spy? Why else would he have gone through all this to keep his identity a secret?

This is why we all had this odd feeling about him, and my protective instincts were going off.

And yet… he has such high anxiety and doesn’t act like the son of the leader of one of the worst motorcycle clubs in the area. Something isn’t adding up, but he’s even more of a liability than I thought. Leroy Morrow is responsible for killing our mothers during a war that broke out between my crew and theirs.

My pack is still struggling with the aftermath, why I have a stranglehold on who has access to us and insist on gathering information on people. Apparently my paranoia is still serving us well.
