“What do you think?” she asked.

He cocked his head slightly. “They’re great.”

She turned back to the mirror.

“You don’t think they’re too tight?”

He shook his head. “Nope. Your ass looks fantastic.”

She whipped her head around and gave him a disapproving, yet amused look.

“Nick,” she scolded. “Don’t call it that.”

He laughed. “Sorry. What do you call it?”

She gave a sheepish smile as she hesitated and her cheeks became slightly pink. “My uh … mybum.”She giggled and he laughed again.

“Yourbum?Are you British?”

“No, I just think it sounds nicer thanass,”she whispered the word, hoping nobody would hear her.

“Well, in that case,” he went on, stepping over behind her and slipping his hands around her waist. “Your bum looks quite nice in those pants. And you’re adorable.”

She beamed at their embracing reflection and felt her tummy flip.

This is perfect. He is totally Mister Right.

She couldn’t help lifting her face and kissing the bottom of his chin, which prompted him to kiss her lips, then the spot next to her mouth.

She sighed contentedly. “I guess I’ll get them. Is that everything?”

“That’s everything. Go ahead and get changed. I’ll meet you at the register.”

She started to head back into the dressing room when he tugged her wrist back to him and kissed her again.

“Sorry,” he apologized, but didn’t sound very apologetic. “I can’t help kissing you sometimes.”

She grinned at him. “You can kiss me anytime you like.”

After changing, Samantha carried the pants up to the register where Nick waited and absently tapped a credit card on the counter.

She gave him a scolding look. “Put that thing away.”

He smirked. “Nope.”

She huffed. “I can pay for my own stuff, Nick.”

“I know. But I want to. This was my idea.”

“But I—”

“No buts.Only bums.”

“Nick, this is a lot of money.”

“It’s not a big deal,” he dismissed. “Besides, I’d like to think of it as an investment.”

An investment, she mused.Meaning there will be a future.
